Well, where in Cali are you? there are so many indian casinos in this state.
if you are in the san diego area, barona is alledged to have the best vp. i saw an ad for them recently stating there vp is the best in the valley and certified by bob dancer.
if are your in the los angeles metro, i would advise san manuel. they have decent pay schedules for the 50 cent and 1 dollar range (triple and 10 play). it is also the closest casino to los angeles. just hop on the 210 all the way there.
ps, if it's an indian casino, you can of course smoke inside
also, the ones that have a minimum age of 18 don't serve alcohol. you will have to investigate.

besides, most video poker does not always mean best. i'm pretty sure barona would be a better option than valley view in san diego. (see below)
BOB DANCER ANNOUNCES BEST VIDEO POKER IN SAN DIEGO
Monday, December 15, 2008
Video Poker Expert Finds the Area's Loosest Video Poker Machines At Barona Valley Ranch Resort & Casino
(SAN DIEGO) Dec. 15, 2008 – America’s premier video poker player, writer and teacher, Bob Dancer, has officially certified Barona Valley Ranch Resort & Casino as offering the “Best Video Poker in San Diego.” The certification was determined through an extensive review of the video poker options at Barona and nine other area casinos. Dancer’s expertise has been highly regarded in the gaming industry since he began his professional gambling career in 1994 and subsequently authored Million Dollar Video Poker to recount and share his winning secrets.
“After completing a thorough analysis of San Diego’s casinos, I have determined that Barona has the best video poker in the area,” said Dancer. “Barona’s casino consistently provides players with excellent chances of winning and a wide variety of gaming options for all levels of play from 25 cents to $1 to high limit machines.”
Barona features over 250 video poker machines with more than 120 multi-hand video poker machines, including Triple Play, Five Play, Ten Play, Multi Strike Poker, Fifty Play and One Hundred Play Poker. These machines include the following popular video poker games: Deuces Wild, Double Double Bonus Poker, Jokers Wild, Double Bonus Poker, All Star Poker, Jacks or Better, Aces$ Bonus Poker, Joker Poker and Deuces Wild Bonus Poker.
To summarize his analysis of video poker games in greater San Diego, Dancer categorized the casinos based on the number and type of video poker games offered and divided the games into three categories based on the monetary denomination needed for game play: “Less than $1,” “$1” and “Greater than $1.” The casinos then received ratings of “Excellent,” “Very Good,” “Good,” “Decent” or “Not Good” in each category. Based on this methodology, Barona achieved a first place ranking among the reviewed casinos and was the only casino noted for its “Excellent” liberal offerings in all three categories.

Vidopoker, arguably both Sycuan and Soboba list bigger inventories of VP. However, both Barona Valley Ranch and Valley View by far have had more winners. Harrahs Rincon has had decent success with winners but the paytables are kaput for the buck and under crowd. My personal best have come from Viejas and Valley View though. Both have marginal inventories but I usually do well. Pauma is not a bad option either.

lou: sorry for the he/she mistake you are totally welcome for the help. please let us know on the post here where you end up going and how you do!
shemp: i am sorry if i was rude. I did not intend to be and I was just trying to be helpful. I only posted that article b/c everyone is always so insistent on how wonderful barona is. again, my apologies. Ps, it's VIDOpoker
Ed: I used to go to soboba EVERY weekend when I was in college with one of my roommates. I never remember seeing very many vp machines there. have you been there before? that place is sketchy. I have stories to prove it (in addition to all the shootings that took place there and the 2 people who died). i would never go back there again.
