FP is absolutely wrong on this. There are a number of successful players. (To be sure, he's not one of them.) It's posts like this that should remove his right to post in the strategy section. He should be relegated over to the recreational section where his misinformation does less harm

The person who started this thread is typical of one of your victims. Does he have positive VP opportunities available to him? Does he posses the ability to play VP like a computer forever? Does he have an unlimited VP bankroll? All he knows is what you tell him.

This man is one of the millions of players who are paying your bills. Does this bother you or make you happy? If you cared about the players, you would have addressed his questions instead of jumping in only when your strategy was questioned. All you care about is making a profit. It's more important to you than anything else in this game. What I care about is the players who don't have the opportunities, skills and bankroll to beat the casino, but continue to try because you say it can be done.

Mr. Dancer, all I am trying to do is to get people to realize there are ramifications to telling people casinos are beatable. I can tell you are an intelligent person. I assume you feel empathy for those less fortunate than you? Do you feel any responsibility when you are confronted with someone who is in the process of destroying themselves or their family trying to duplicate your results? Maybe you think that never happens or by telling them not to play negative games you are relieved of blame? You are old enough to know these things happen. They may bury themselves anyway, but you don't have to hand them a shovel.

I don't find phils nonsense amusing. It's the same old song and every so often he'll throws in some personal insults. Next day he says "Who me? Why I never" and starts a new thread about how he is so misunderstood.
Been there, done that, have the scars to show for it.

It's not those that succeed that I am concerned with. It's those that believe they can succeed who do not have the advantages, competence or luck to succeed that concerns me. Bob Dancer promotes a strategy that he says can beat the casinos. He says other people do as well. That's all fine and good. What he doesn't say is that there is a risk you can do everything right according to his strategy and still lose.

There will always be risk in gambling. He can't remove 100% of the risk and he knows it better than anyone. Bob Dancer is the most successful video poker player in the world. He has also been extremely lucky. Half of his million dollar win back in 2000 came on just two hands. On one of them he admitted he was playing above his bankroll. Did his strategy somehow force them to happen? He wants us to think so.

I am not saying no one can ever beat the casino long term. I am saying the odds are extremely unlikely even if you have everything that Bob Dancer has. It takes a lot of luck to beat the casino long term. If he would state that fact, he would have nothing else to acknowledge.

well when u say the only wat to beat the casino is not go in means to some people there is no possible way to beat them.granted I know it applies to the vast majoritie but not all ! I still cant spell,oh well.i think u are really trying to help people so more power to u !!!!

...and what you repeatedly fail to realize is how quickly luck vanishes from the equation. It doesn't take as much play as you always imply (even though you have had the numbers given to you many times) to start approaching "long term" gains. And when the odds are positive and you play it right, you can pretty much count on coming out ahead. IF you play it right. Yes, you have to exclude that chance of a meteor landing on your head while a shark is eating you just after you won the lottery, but that's life.

So, Eduardo (you might ask), why aren't you an advantage player then? Simple... I don't have any interest in spending that much time in a casino or chasing opportunities, even if they were as common as 10-20 years ago. But I have no doubt that those who are capable and disciplined can EASILY make a profit off the casino. Like those players do today... not just on video poker, but with video poker as one game in your bag of tricks. Opportunities are fewer and I'm guessing the gain per hour is probably much less than it once was in most situations. But yeah, I believe it works.

It's not the life for me. But for those who do go after it... good for them!
