Re: Bankroll and Variance
A guy was sitting next to me last night at Harrahs in Joliet, IL. He was playing 5 line .25 denomination DDB and, yes, he caught a royal. Oh well....
Edited to add: I need to clarify the above. The player next to me was playing 5 hand .25 denomination DDB but he was only playing 1 coin a line. He caught a royal on 1 line only. My bad and sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
oh ok, I was originally getting thoughts it was billyjoe that hit it

There is no "right way" to play a negative expectation game, unless you consider not playing at all to be a strategy. No matter now close you are to 100%, if the game returns minus your errors plus your comps is less than 100%, it's negative... However, you can minimize your losses by playing the best game possible and learning perfect strategy for that particular game. If you win on a negative machine for a day, week, year or however long you want to string it out.... it's luck. How long can you be lucky? Who knows, but as long as it's working for me I'm OK with it.
