Re: Quick Quads Strategy
If you are dealt a QQ, be sure and hold it. Game does not. SM, got dealt those 8s again. For once in my life I was smart enough to hold them.

The variance must be extremely high. I've gotten tons of QQs and still lost my .... uh, shirt.
If you find your ....uh, shirt , let me know mine might be around there to.

I had: 5 3 5 10 2
Held the 5 3 5 2 and hit a quick quad. I'm liking those holds.

Your strategy works perfectly. Dealt 2-8s and a 6&2 and some other card. held the 2-8s, 6&2. got the 3rd 8 for a QQ
Other good deals - 8,8,4,4 and 6,6,3,3 and 10,10,5,5; etc., that let you have your cake and eat it too with a possible FH. On DDB today I held A,2,2,2 and drew an Ace on one line. I played for about an hour yesterday and didn't get a single QQ, played about an hour and a half today and hit about 10. Not that it helped my bottom line much...

I just had that happen - dealt A,9,10,10,10.
I've already determined that if I play QQ in a casino, I'll have to use a different strategy. That's because when I play at home nobody minds if I keep one shoe and sock off as a counting aid.

I missed holding suited 3 4 7 because a face card is normally better. There's a few that will be hard to remember when old habits kick in.
I was just dealt 6 6 4 4 2 ... threw away one of the 4s and hit the QQ.

Trips seem to be a no-brainer. It seems that the complication comes in with one and 2-pair combinations. The game is fun but I'm not sure that it is one that will become a choice for me in a casino. I've not had overall good returns from it playing here on the site. The challenge seems to be to hit the QQ and not in coming out an overall winner

I have not had good luck on it so far either, but mostly because of bad cards so far and a number of stupid plays just because I want to try to hear the quick quad voice. I've been experminenting mostly, not sticking to any solid strategy since my DDB isn' the best to begin with right now. I just try to make the best play and go out of my way for quick quads so far. But really I haven't had many good chances yet. I'll play it more "for real" without messing around later. Another problem is I have been exclusively playing too much deuces lately. I keep throwing away face cards.
I haven't gotten many 3 of a kinds yet at all, which hurts. Also, I've been playing 5 line max bet so I drop faster than I'm used to. I should probably move it to triple play but on the games here I pretty much always play max everything.

I haven't been getting low pairs with singletons less than the low pair. I mean, I'll get a pair of 3's but no Ace or Deuce to go along with the pair that could make a QQ. Very few trips and those have been face cards mostly.

I think the biggest strategy gains come from two plays:
1) If dealt 3oak (2-10) and a card lower than the trips, keep that card with the trips. 5 5 5 J 3 ... keep 5 5 5 3.
2) If dealt a pair (2-10) and two other card add up to the same value as the pair cards, keep all four cards. 7 7 3 4 5 ... keep 7 7 3 4.
