Re: Good Strat cards in Vegas?
gee, all of the conspiracy theories are killing me. Im stoked about LV next week and all these 5 card flips and cheating scams are bringing me down.
Don't worry about it - go to Vegas and have a good time, knowing that you can make informed decisions about what kind of VP to play based on the pay tables and randomness. Negative return paytables and randomness are a good deal for casinos, they also have the legal option of lowering paytables if they so desire. Rigging is unnecessary.
I'm glad you agree that conspiracies regarding machine rigging sound far-fetched, because they are. That's why we have fun with them here. Machines do not decide to rig themselves, and individuals can't run over to places like Wal-mart to buy rigged game chips. Any large scale attempts to rig machines, such as a significant percent of machines in an individual state like Nevada would by necessity involve many people - game manufacturers, casino owners, regulators, and inspectors. Just as with any secret, the more people you have in on it and the longer it goes on, the more likely someone will spill the beans. And the penalties for being caught are severe. One writer I know of has claimed he's been told there is a "secret" set of gaming regulations for Nevada that allow a certain amount of rigging. Actually written down, no less. If that is true, then the beans have already been spilled at least once. Loose lips sink ships. There's also the risk that someone outside the conspiracy might do some sleuthing and uncover it - those darn reporters.
Any proponents of the idea of machine rigging ipso-facto believe a conspiracy to do so is in place. Any opponents of the idea don't believe a conspiracy is in place. That's how simple it is. I'm in the latter group.
Perhaps a better way of putting it would be to ask anyone proposing any kind of systematic rigging to explain how it could be done without a conspiracy. The writer I mentioned above believes a conspiracy is in place in Nevada to rig machines, and I'd be interested in reading how many people he believes are in on it, even if he just gives a ballpark figure. 25? 50? 100? More?
Enjoy your Vegas trip!
“I Only Play When I Have The Edge”
Elaborate..........
Not to cut out any of the humor but I didn't see a response to this inquiry.
What's called the "edge" is also often referred to as the "advantage". Essentially, it is the difference between a game's return plus casino incentives and 100%. If this number is positive then you have the "edge".
For example, if you take a game like 9/6 JOB at 99.54% and add cashback of .3% along with bounceback/freeplay of .5% you would have an edge of 99.54+.3+.5-100 = .34%. So, approximately ,34% of all the money gambled should show in your wallet over time.

Shadow- Thx, I didn't know if EDGE meant a brand of strat cards that I should seek out. Im not all that familiar with fpdw so I would rather have a card and play right then play blind. Now I know EDGE is just part of the riddle.
It is more than a riddle, it is a SYNDROME by some folks thinking. Now that's a riddle.

Oej, your post reminded me of another PM from reflexion that I received earlier today. Here it is.
Hi, CD - I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you on the illegal regulations. I just flew into Vegas and forgot to bring my copy with me. I know that the head parking valet at my hotel, Jimmy, has a copy as he's asked me questions before about certain provisions of the illegal regs, but he told me that today he left his copy in his other jacket. I did ask at the front desk for the house copy, and they were nice enough to photocopy one for me.
Here is the section relating to machine randomness. To make sure that there would be no confusion between the two sets of regulations the conspirators use the same section and article numbers as the legal ones. I'm sure that this section of the legal regs has been posted on the site, if not let me know and I'll post them.

CD do you know what this means to us that use the EDGE SYNDROME?
How is an addict to profit from this?
Is bankruptcy a solution?
Writing books? or Betting on the NFL?
Is that just another form of addiction?
Can alcholics give up boozo and just drink beer?
The confusion never seems to stop.
Please help us Eduardo. Do you people have these problems as our neighbors to the south?
Hello! can anyone hear me?
