"I am beginning to take a survey of regular VP players at Mohegan Sun "
Well, if these customers are anything like the regular customers where I play then I can only tell you this ... you are wasting your time. You will always get a negative viewpoint. I hear woes of losing all the time while I and other APers are winning. And, the most vocal are the people losing the most.
Even though I believe in the math, I personally feel this way. It probably doesn't help that my play is spread among several denominations, and in my personal opinion, I have done better on "lower denomination/worse paying machines" lifetime. Overall, I have lost significantly on video poker. It sucks, but I still think my results are in the realm of normal expectations.
I expect if you survey a large group of "normal" players though, they will also complain about their losses (I am!!) because if one plays on ~crappy machines, you'll be eventually doomed by coin-in.

I live about 1 hour away from Mohegan across the stateline.....the whole reason I go to AC is simply due to having experienced what you are now experiencing. When i tried to establish a base of play at Mohegan in 2009, I had such abysmal results there in the span of 4 visits inside of 6 weeks, I just shrugged it off and got on the Bus and went to AC, thinking at the time that the market in AC, with big name national casino companies, and the large established CITY devoted to gaming would give me results similar to what I saw in Vegas and Reno. At the very least, I figured the sketchy, dodgy gaming regs and enforcement thereof in Connecticut would give way to more stable, upright regs and enforcement in AC due to its size and long history.
Now I am not so sure......but let me just say, my opinion and views on AC are the results of 4 YEARS of play......how long have you been hav ing these crappy results in Mohegan? I gave up on Mohegan after a few visits......at the time, I did not feel as strong as I do now after my AC experience....back then I just (as i said) "shrugged it off" and went elsewhere.....is it possible for YOU to do the same? I'm not saying run to AC, but I will say losing even in AC is superior to losing in the middle-of-no-where in southern Connecticut! At least in AC, there are things to do, places to see and LOTS of great food. In the twin asylums that are Mohegan and Foxwoods, you are stuck in the woods with nothing else as an option!
I actually enjoy playing at Mohegan Sun even though the results have been poor for years. I find the employees very friendly, the food is pretty good and no cost to me, I get invited to shows and sporting events, free gifts, free rooms on Sun-Thurs and lounge access anytine I like. My distance is about the same as yours , so an hour or so ride. Very recently results have improved, but of course it could be short lived. We'll see.

Most of you just don't want to listen. DaBurglar is absolutely right. I've said it before and I'll try this 1 more time. They change chips in the VP machines in AC. Sometimes tighter and sometimes looser. I do not believe they are illegally "rigging" the machines though. By law, they can loosen and tighten the machines to a lower limit. The chip used in the machine is more important than the paytable. Furthermore, in a recent meeting with the casino bigwigs, they decided to tighten up the machines for the summer. A couple casinos did not go along with the program. The decision was made basically because they are hurting financially, need more revenue, and they understand that people going there in the summer don't really care if they win or lose anyway. The customers are down there spending money, partying, drinking, and having fun, not serious gambling for the most part. Go to AC on a weekend and you'll know what I mean. They can get away with tightening up the machines in the summer. They are NOT going to lose the summer crowd because machines are tight. My advice to you all is to not play in AC for awhile. They will loosen up the machines later on. Its an ongoing procedure for them. The hard part is finding out when they tighten or loosen machines. Fortunately for me, I have some information in that regard. In any case, DaBurglar has been right on with his posts and his experiences. Most of you just don't listen. Also, it seems that some of you think VP in AC is like playing with a real deck of cards in front of you. WAKE UP people. Take all that mathematics and statistical evaluation stuff and throw it away. Its a friggin machine and machines can be adjusted! In AC anyway.

oh for farks sake, what are u thick? It's a subjective thing based on one's individual objectivity and experience, much like just about everything else in life that transpires outside of classrooms, laboratories and courthouses. his proof is the same as my proof: experiences, people we talk to and know, our own research and observations, etc. You dont have to agree but the fact is you cannot PROVE that things are any more straight and kosher and above the board Than we can "prove" things are what we claim. But common sense and perception and reasoning allow for a variety of conclusions, and my "proof" is the fact that 15+ years playing outside of AC yielded one set of results, while 4+ years playing IN AC has yielded another radically different set, and the most logical conclusion to explain the difference lies within the regs and how the game is set up and administered. if you dont play in AC, how can you just dismiss out of hand what someone who does play in AC is saying? And let me pause here and say, TSHOCK>>>>>>?? Where the hell have you been?!?! i've been here ranting and raving and trying my best to share and get the word out, all the while the cognitive dissonance cult pokes me in the eye and calls me a nut (or worse.) Well, I am glad you are sounding off......my email is: club_da_burglar@yahoo.com send me a note TSHOCK and I will share some other stuff that the kids here cannot handle!

You made a similar statement in an earlier post. How, exactly, did you become aware of that meeting, and what took place at it? (when I asked a similar question after your earlier post, you didn't bother to reply).

Michael Shackelford mathematically proves online casinos are rigged all the time.I'm sure he'd be happy to parse your meticulously gathered data, DaBurglar. For his normal fee, I would assume. It's not "experiences" or "feelings." It's probability and mathematics.

wHAT IS HIS FEE? i HAVE already analyzed and parsed my data three ways to Sunday, but no one LIKED what I found or what I had to conclude. the only real compelling important thing was the dud/no value hand rate was way out of bounds for the 300,000 plus hands I tracked and kept records on since late 2012 last year. Resorts, AC Club, taj, Ballys, caesars and Showboat together, in those 300K hands dealt me a whole lotta duds, such that it was obvious something was amiss, so it was NOT simply my gut or feelings or intuition or whatever. Now.....if anyone wants me to send them the cranberry juice stained, lose leaf note pad paper with my chicken scratch detailing all these hands, I will gladly do so, so that they can compile and analyze the results themselves and then report back to the community here, email me please.....you are responsible for postage however
