Um Barney Fife would like to know if this constitutes fraud? Gee, a casino wouldn't want to prosecute, would they? Also, what happens if a hand pay is hit? When the casino comes to service the hand pay and they get the players card along with a photo i.d., when the names don't match, then what?

Having a casino Players Card, and whatever perks come with it, is a privilege, not a right, extended by the casino to a person. A casino can yank your card, and the associated perks, based on anything that they feel is an abuse, or negatively affects them financially.

I do not know if it is illegal.

With regard to a hand pay, a players card in a machine is irrelevant. The person making the bet, and getting a win >$1200, is responsible for providing the casino with a valid ID, and any tax reporting or withholding.

But what if the casino found out that "Winner" caught the jackpot while playing cashback that wasn't theirs?

When I play my wife's free play through I only do it on machines/games where a taxable is impossible. This goes for any play on her card as well.

As far as I know, at Mohegan Sun whoever is sitting at the machine and made the bet is the winner of a jackpot with proper ID. I don't think they will pay at all without ID when taxes are involved. Some of the promotions these casinos come up with are just crazy and done without much thought. For example, a few months ago, Mohegan had a virtual horse race game pop up every so often when you were playing your machine. It came up on all machines in the casino. The only rule was you had to have your player's card in. There were 8 horses to pick from. At that time, the promotion came up every half hour and if you picked the winning horse you got 25 dollars in free play. If you had 7 buddies sitting in a row or near each other, and everyone played a different horse, there would be a winner every time. That could add up to about 300 dollars for the day based on the number of races the casino was running at the time. They finally got a little smarter and ruled that you had to play 20- in the half hour before race time. During the time you were waiting for the virtual race to start, you could still play your game, but with a smaller screen. Most people would just wait the 5 or ten minutes for the race and the casino would lose all of that playing time. Some people got so confused by what was happening, they had to have all kinds of employees running around answering questions. and there were glitches of all kinds with the system in general. Sometimes the sound would go out, the PA system didn't match the goings on etc. etc. etc. I think they should let players make suggestions for reasonable and simple promotions. Pretty much any I have made over the years have fallen on deaf ears.

And in this case, they would definitely yank your privileges if they bust you using someone else's card. It's a much more risky move than normal.

I am not sure that they would know, unless you told them. I have received several handpays while playing FreePlay, but it was not apparent to the person responding on the floor.  Most large progressives do not accept FreePlay anyway.

I usually run my Free Play through $5 VP games. I find that, overall, I get a better return to cash percentage, which I can then take to any game I want.

3) The MAIN purpose of this promotion is NOT to secure a "interest free loan" for Revel from players who manage to MAX out the 100K promo limit.....nor is the primary goal to drastically increase gaming revenue for July (attaining MAXIMUM revenue is ALWAYS the objective.) The MAIN goal of this promotion is to ENSURE that Revile has a steady stream of customers in the traditionally SLOW months following the inevitable post-labor day end-of-summer CRASH....the 20 week redemption period starting in August ensures that the customers investing in this Promotion will be returning each week thru the end of the year (December 31)! This addresses the NUMBER 1 problem for Revel, the MAIN reason they have failed up to now....LACK of consistent and sufficient gamblers.   Point number 3 made in the above post comes from where? This is all opinion.
Are you kidding me, Tedlurk?   You seriously cannot see, or agree with what I typed, that the purpose of such a promotion is to ensure return/repeat business?  Doesnt the "spread it out over 20 weeks" make it obvious???  Even if you knew nothing of Revel's history or of AC, it should be obvious.  You are ridiculous, and not just for the fact you keep replying to my posts after ranting like a child "I'll NEVER reply to you again blah blah blah!" Well, for anyone else interested in this, in answer to Tedlunk's question, yes the OPINION/Conclusion was Mine, but it has also been confirmed and re-stated by NONE OTHER than Revel itself.   Revel has since sent out a flyer, advertising this JULY Cashback promotion, that anyone who has a Revel card should be getting, which emphatically states "We at Revel have made some mistakes in the past but we are willing to make up for that.  We want the people that matter most, those of you who play OUR GAMES, to come back...." etc etc

Regards playing other people's slot play:   Yes of course it has a element of risk, but still, are you going to say "It doesnt happen?"  or "Never happens?"    again, ridiculous. It happens all the time.....people who frequent any casino that offers such free play promotions find the loopholes and ways to exploit it..... Billyjoe is technically correct in that its all "privileges and stuff that can be snatched away for any reason whatsoever" by the casinos.....hells bells, casinos are PRIVATE PROPERTY and they can give you or anyone else the BOOT whenever they want for any reason they want......but of course, like anything else, it is all subjective and relative to each person's situation.  The safe way to play someone else's free play, in fact the ONLY way it should be done to avoid ANY possible complications in the unlikely event a handpay jackpot is hit, is to first DOWNLOAD the free play and then remove the player's card that isnt yours and then either play without any card, or insert your own card.   It is that simple.....and unless you hit some super duper rare progressive or massive jackpot, NOTHING will happen .... if it is only a standard Royal Flush handpay or something like that, you will just be paid.   The potential bad press and stink for a casino that wants to "bust" someone for using a friend or relative's free play is usually enough for the casino to just payout in the UNLIKELY event they even realize you used someone else's free play. Husbands use their wives free play all the time, and vice versa;  friends lend their cards and comps all the time.   Casinos know this of course and they really have no choice but to tolerate it.....what else can they do?   If they want to get all enforcement happy they can calmly kiss a chunk of business GOODBYE, and in this day and age, that is not gonna happen. But of course, I only posted this suggestion/scenario with people like Beb Dancer in mind, who most likely would have a LARGE amount of free play available each week from Revel (up to the MAXIMUM 500 bucks under this specific promotion) for 20 weeks, in which case the amount is too large to allow to be wasted simply because he cannot show up.    Obviously, if all we are talking about is a measly 20 bucks a week in free play, it probably is NOT worth the trouble unless a person is planning on visiting AC ANYWAY.

DaBurglar why are you calling me names, is there any reason for that? You don't seem to understand that it is my opinion you are making Revel a 20 week interest free loan while partaking in this promotion. If you gamble and lose $25,000.00 at Revel and then "get" a percentage of it back in equal installments over the course of 20 weeks then you are getting your own money back. This only applies if you go back every week for 20 weeks and if you don't, then you are S.O.L.

I also still stand by my assertion that you are suggesting fraud when you talk about other people cashing in the free play. Furthermore in your first two posts about this you didn't raise the husband/wife or friend/friend, uncle/aunt, cousin/cousin, step-sister/step-brother, neighbor/neighbor, redeeming the cashback.

Obviously your name calling means that I am rubbing you the wrong way and name calling is the only way you have to try and get over me?
