I have absolutely no problem with Bob Dancer's reported winnings or any of the math involved in his strategy.  Some people can win playing video poker and some will lose.  The reason for this is that the difference between winning and losing in video poker often turns on a very small number of lucky hands.   The larger the bet the greater effect this has.  My only problem with his strategy is that it leads regular players down the path of chasing royals, which is a financial disaster for the majority of players and a windfall for the casinos.  If he was selling food or any consumer product, it would need a disclaimer.  "Results May Vary:  Known side effects are; excessive gambling, bankruptcy, alcoholism, drug use, health problems, suicide, jail, divorce and mental illness.  Whether genetic or environmental, it should be noted that the results of playing video poker vary from person to person. No individual result should be seen as
typical."

I agree with what you said. Though Dancer has shared with us his strategy in which not many professionals would, there needs to be an emphasis on the bankroll and the denomination you can play at.There are some members here that experienced a 500k or more hands of a royal-less streak. Though I saw the suggested bankroll should be at least 3 or 4 times the Royal Flush amount the person is playing, I strongly think the bankroll requirement is at least  10 to 15 folds the royal amount. The nasty streak can happen to anyone, once you hit the risk of ruin, it is hard to recover from to continue the chasing.I have experienced one or two side effects from problem gambling that you've listed on the disclaimer. I only play a little at a time now.

.... which is a financial disaster for the majority of players and a windfall for the casinos.

Hordes of short coin players giving up an extra percent of so of return are also a windfall for the casinos.

Although I agree with this as well as any other negative expectation game at the casino (virtually every). It is just that the short coin play will make the casino wait three times longer for what they expect to receive.
Hordes of short coin players giving up an extra percent of so of return are also a windfall for the casinos.
I respectfully disagree. Short coin players can and do win playing video poker all the time.  If you play single coin quarters all day and walk into the high limit slot and hit an $8,000 Royal, you win and the casino loses.  You could play single coin quarters for 20 more years and never have a net loss. The math says this won't happen, but there it is.   Math can only calculate the odds that something will happen.  There is no math calculation for luck, good or bad.

If I owned a casino, and players willingly gave me an extra percent of profit, I would be quite happy.

If I ever get to own a casino, I'd be happy period. So many recreational gamblers do not know optimal play including blackjack and craps.

There's a reason there are so many penny slots on the casino floor lately.

This is not true. If I would have only played 1 coin instead of 5 coins from the beginning of my endeavors, even the sad amount of rf, s I hit, I would be 3xs better on long term play.

You gotta be lucky. We cant be lucky all the time.
Some of us can. If so, maybe write a book or sell some strategy cards

The problem most serious players have is that they don't have the game in the right perspective.  Video poker is a game.  It's no different than Super Mario, Zelda or Candy crush, it's just entertainment and shouldn't be viewed as anything else.  Second, most players play above their bankrolls. This causes you to bust before the game has a chance to turn around.  This assumes you already know how to pick the best games, play the right hands and manage your money.  All this talk about odds, edges, perfect play and the rest is way overrated.  Yes you need to know this stuff, but it's not going to make any difference if you go bankrupt trying to make it work.  The Cheap Strategy is very simple.  Play 90% of your hands at a denomination where you don't give a damn what happens and play 10% of your hands at a level where hitting a jackpots means something to you. When you hit a jackpot at the higher level, keep the money and don't play it back into the machine.  This strategy is difficult for many players because their brains and the casino keeps telling them the big score is on the next hand. Before you start pounding away at the keyboard to say I am a total idiot, read though the website and find out how it actually works.  You may find it works better than what you have been doing.  If not stay with what you're doing and just have fun.
