Re: Video Poker is a Beatable Game
Bob, . . . I am trusting you are wise enough and smart enough to understand my subtle points, even if Ted is not ...... thanks.
Doubtful. I couldn't make it through the last long post you had color-coordinated. FYI, I posted a rather lengthy comment on how pros count their winnings. You wanted infinitely more clarification.Too bad. You're not going to get it. I could easily post 10,000 words in response to what you ask, and two hours later would be another color-coordinated post from you asking about 14 more items in my response. For me that would be a bottomless pit. No thanx. If you want to be grateful that I post more new-and-different useful information on this site than anyone else, fine. Be my guest. Learn away if you find it interesting. If you wish to ignore all my posts because you think I'm full of myself, that's okay too. Your choice as to how you spend your time. But always insisting on more information gets old. As does FPs insisting that I must be lying because he can't figure out how anybody can make money at this game.Might be time for me to take another 30-day vacation.

Bob, I have learned that discussing someone's children or their divorce elicits the same level of defensiveness and the same lack of objectivity ---- which is perfectly understandable. However, for the record, there is nothing in my post that in any way labels you or your lifestyle as that of a "sinner." Absolutely nothing. The point I made, or tried to make, is that to be a professional gambler requires certain major sacrifices, among them relationships and health. This isn't unique to you -- I live near Laughlin and I know numerous pros. In addition, a member of my immediate family is an executive with a casino holding corporation and this individual worked up through casino-level management posts -- providing me with additional, if second-hand, experience concerning pros. I am not among the Dancer Doubters on this forum, and I would appreciate it if you would re-read my post with an attempt at more objectivity.
Obviously I touched a nerve......what a total jerk. I did NOT deserve this response.....Generally when you start asking BS artists and scam artists for "info" this is the type of response you get, irrational, ornery and totally obfuscating the real issue(s).....This pile of horsesh*t about the "profit" being a mystery, or something "only Bib and people like him can understand" is typical once you start asking for TRANSPARENCY.This is the simple truth, TRANSPARENCY is simple and straightforward in situations like this, and TRANSPARENCY will HELP YOU if you are honest and on the "up and up".....Bob could PROVE all his skeptics wrong if he wanted to......so why doesn't he? I'm guessing, by his hostility, he cannot......Make it a 30 year vacation Bob, ok?

DaBurglar you proved exactly here how you have treated Bob in the past and it goes alot deeper than just mis-spelling his name for comedic relief.

What, exactly, would he have to provide to satisfy your transparency request?
Have those other pro gamblers you mentioned provided it to you?
What, exactly, would he have to provide to satisfy your transparency request?
OK, lets assume Bob Dancer can make a six figure income playing video poker alone. If he can do that on a consistent basis, why waste his time training dummies like me for peanuts or trading verbal shots with quarter players on this forum? This is because he needs the revenue from software sales, books, radio shows, training classes and casino consulting fees to live his lifestyle and if players start losing the dream the sale of those products suffers.I believe he has made a long term profit from video poker if he averages in his incredibly lucky wins from 2001 or a few cars he won in a drawing. I have serious doubts he would have turned much profit from VP alone without those wins. If I had the keys to the VP kingdom, I would be quietly playing $100 machines 24/7 until Donald Trump invited me to lunch then retire to Monaco.Bob Dancer's contributions to video poker have been good for players and casinos alike. We now know what a good game looks like and how to play them effectively. We understand comps and how they add to your bottom line. Video Poker is popular with players and where I play the machines are still full even with ever descending odds. If you want to believe you can turn a big profit playing video poker alone, I say fine. Personally, my goal is to break even and I can't do that with Bob's strategy on the machines I play and I don't believe he should quit his day job either.Note: I have not made any personal attacks in my post. I stated what I believe is true as I said I would. I will keep this discussion civil and respectful. I can't speak for others.

Even with optimal pay machines on the most elementary VP, breaking even is an achievement.

Anyone who's ever played VP for any length of time knows this is a fact even if they won't admit it. Bob's previous post is actually pretty revealing. I fail to see how winning a car in a drawing or being paid by a casino for your appearance can be considered winning at video poker, but I agree it's all good. If you're going to claim you win six figures a year playing video poker alone, you need to expect these questions and not get ticked off every time someone questions you about it.

Yes, everyone who follows Mr. Dancer should understand playing video poker alone a losing cause because it is a negative expectation game, and its the extracurricular things outside of it that make it a winning effort.
Playing video poker generates the opportunities to win drawings and earn comps from the casino, so I would consider that winning from video poker. Mr. Dancer probably earns more entries than most others to increase the chance of winning them.
This is one of the "you need money to make money" type of ordeals. The quicker Mr. Dancer can accumulate bankroll, weather it be teaching, books, radio show, or software, the better. You have to move up rapidly to the $25 denomination play to make a living.
You cannot make a fortune with a few shares of an ordinary company in the stock market (except Berkshire Hathaway), you need to keep buying shares to see the dividends. And you need to find any means to find the funds to buy those shares.
