Re: Bob Dancer on Losing

Post by alpax »

I always wonder why I don't see Dancer in the lead on any of the contests.. And I never see his name on the challenges - so - Is he here only to drum up business? I would think his business would improve if we saw him as a winner.

The daily and weekly contests are very much a crapshoot. The winner is not likely to be the most skilled player. The winner is either dealt a Royal Flush or Four Aces with any 2, 3, 4 in Triple Double Bonus on a multi hand game.

The monthly contest does reflect a little more skill where a dealt jackpot hand does not lead to an automatic victory, but 500 * 30 = 15000 can also produce a crapshoot of results.

Mainly, I think Mr. Dancer does not make conscious effort to play these contests because there might be a better usage of his time. He plays video poker for much bigger stakes/rewards than the $25 or $100 payoff for winning a contest on this website.

Mr. Dancer claims to earn most of his income from his gambling efforts, thus increasing efforts to putting out his brand on this site/forum will be futile.

Besides, If Dancer won some contests, some people would just think it was rigged.

Playing in contests doesn't make him money. He seriously doesn't play video poker for fun. He has said on multiple occasions that he doesn't play without an edge. Video poker is his job.

He said before in the past that he posted here mostly as a favor to one of the guys that helped create this site.

He posts on the wizardofvegas forum on occasion. He just posted on the question of getting a Mulligan, in fact.

Does it? I think you unintentionally insulted the entire forum with that statement...

Well, I omitted the wink emoji. There has certainly been sufficient nonsense by enough members to prompt an exodus.

He says they're both equally wealthy, but the other guy plays lower than he can afford. The other guy gets no Jo from losing and why would he. There is a lot of truth people play machines in casino just to see a pretty picture. If it costs someone $25,000 every time they see a royal, why wouldn't they rather spend $2500. Especially if they're not playing expecting to win like Dancer.

These people could throw hundreds out their windows, but they don't. The mind and ego are very powerful. They could toss five grand in a machine really gaining nothing, but two hundred on Main St. and Elm would be insanity. Words lie and actions truth.
