BOOPS, I do too and i'm a rank amateur compared to these guys. I just can't come to grips with 5 out of 6 hands being four deuces, let alone 6 RF's in an hour. Doesn't that sound just a little off-kilter to you? Why are the math people not posting the odds on these claims? It would be interesting to see.

It sounds extremely lucky! With random machines you never know whats going to happen! Ive ahd some crazy things happen-like holding a 7 and getting 5 sevens or once I got 4 aces w/k 4 times in 15 minutes on the same machine. Happened once and will probably NEVER happen again!

4 a's w/k 4 times in a hundred fifty hands vs. four deuces in 5 out of 6 hands. BIG difference. Your hands are highly improbable but possible. His are impossible on a fair machine, hands down.

4 a's w/k 4 times in a hundred fifty hands vs. four deuces in 5 out of 6 hands. BIG difference. Your hands are highly improbable but possible. His are impossible on a fair machine, hands down. Hitting quad deuces 4 times in 6 hands vs. hitting quad aces + kicker 4 times in 15 minutes (or 150 hands, as you've estimated).  It's difficult for me to call someone a liar when I haven't run the numbers and got astronomical odds (10^20 to 1 or something like that), but I recognize that some aren't as careful with accusations as I am.Of course it depends heavily on what games were being played in each scenario.  For these odds, I used computer perfect strategy on full pay royal deuces and 9-6 Double Double Bonus.  I concluded that Frank's deuce event is 221 times less likely than what Boops related to you...with an equal amount of play.  Now, from reading here, I'm sure that Boops plays a lot, but I'm not really ready to conclude that she plays as often as Frank.  What is the exact proportion of one's play to the other?  Who's to say.I should tell you that the ratio of likelihoods is highly sensitive to the assumptions here.  What if Boops didn't get the time exactly right?  If she really hit these in 10 minutes or 100 hands...or perhaps took some time for hand pays...Frank's event is only 65 times less likely with equal play by both.  And of course there are several sets of assumptions that could tilt the balance in the other direction (though I've had my fill of these types of calculations for a while and I don't want to supply bandages for injured noggins right now). You've stated "5 out of 6 hands" a couple times when Frank's post said "4 out of 6," so it's clear that mistakes that affect calculated odds occur.  The difference between those two events are that the one you have been stating is more than 8000 times less likely to occur than the one Frank stated.I'm not saying that I believe Frank or that I don't believe him.  It is not going to have an appreciable effect on my life in either case. However, we all witness things that after-the-fact odds calculations would suggest are over a trillion to one.  Pull two dollar bills out of your pocket and look at the serial numbers.  Irrespective of the letters, the odds that any two bills would have those exact serial numbers are about 10 quadrillion to 1.  Does that mean it cannot happen or that they are counterfeit?  Well, try trading them for a bottle of soda or 1/2 a gallon of gasoline.  If it works, I guess that sometimes even 10 quadrillion to 1 events can actually happen.

Liar? No way Jose'. It's more like an exaggeration which I still believe it was. Boop's timing off? Could be but it could go either way. i know you're sympathetic of Frank and that has to be why you haven't shown the astronomical odds against what he claims. Have you always given everyone here that you don't know the benefit of the doubt? I did goof on the 5 out of 6 hands but i thank you for the explanation. 6 royals in an hour where all require stoppage because of tax forms. 2 machines, figure 1200 hands max? On one machine that's too good to be true. On two it's really impossible because of the movement and the mind. Those odds are looking more impossible by the minute.

As long as you are all determined to try to figure out the odds on this. Here's some more info. When I stated an hour, I was not counting down time for Jackpots, and I moved over and started playing a third machine when one was idle.Figure slightly over an hour of play, about 2000 hands. Also remember in my long career this was the most unlikely thing that I've ever personally experienced of a positive nature. So factor in the fact that my lifetime hands are in the 25-30 million range.I'd be curious to know if you can come up with a solid number. You should ask LV Advisor what's the most RF's anyone has ever gotten in a day. I believe it's well over ten. I heard some old lady at Sam's Town got 11 a few years back.~FKP.S. You do realize this whole thread is kind of pointless. There's no way to learn and improve your own play by talking about hands other people have hit. I'm just saying.

It's not pointless, at least for me. As you said we're in different leagues when it comes to playing. How can i get better if i don't understand or have faith in what better players say? I read lva and the people you're refering to are a husband/wife tandem who play mulitline games. i've not seen anything other than that except for dealt RF's on 10 to 100 hand machines.  2000 hands in an hour? 1 hand every 1.8 sec? If i were wealthy i'd bet you on that one.

It is very possible because each hand is independent of another due to randomness. Wouldnt really matter if you played 30bazillion hands or just 6. I have also seen some of the most unskilled players get dealt royals because they are lucky. They would never hit a rf off a draw. If anyone hits 6 single line royals in an hour then it has more to do with luck than skill. I too enjoy the stories of the "Pro's", keep em coming.

OK "pointless" was a bad choice of words. Here's my concern.  I know I'm supposed to be a VP advocate, but promoting gambling is not my real motivation for writing my book or chatting on forums. For years it bothered me that I was making a living doing something that was a negative force in so many peoples lives. It really bothers me that I'm in a zero sum occupation where for me to win others must lose. I'd be much happier if everyone won. Obviously, this is impossible. Peace in the middle east would be a more reasonable goal. So I've focused on trying to help people lose less, rather than win more.My dumb luck event can't help anyone. It is not possible to duplicate through skill, and at worst talking about it could promote people (others, not you) to play more than they would normally hoping for a similar experience. This would be about the last thing I would want. I've already admitted that mentioning it was a mistake, and I'll know not to share similar stories in the future.I never expected more than a, "wow neat" reply. I didn't consider it anything but dumb luck and not worth discussion. Here's what I would like to do. Let me send you (backsider) a free copy of my book. Send your address to frank@progressivevp.com and I'll get it right off. At worst you should find it amusing. It bothers me that this bothers you, and I'd like to make amends. It should explain things far better than I can in a few paragraphs.Sincerely,~FK

I understand and thank you. I consider this issue closed and look forward to more input from you in the future here. I have one question if you don't mind, and I've never asked this before anywhere even though i've tried to remember to do it. it seems many name players or those who consider themselves to be ap's all of a sudden jump out of their seats when the word gambling comes up to describe what they're doing. I say this because i got the former impression from you in one of your replies. They always say they are not gambling but either working or trying to add to income or something less ominous-sounding. To me that's just a cover-up for gambling, and probably unsuccessfully to boot. Why else unravel? i look at the obvious definition of gambling in order to come up with my amateur conclusion. Doesn't matter who you are, if you put money into a machine, push a button to make a bet not knowing if you will lose the money or if it will give it back to you and more, you are gambling. No sugar coating can change that. i think the button says "max bet" on it for a reason. Do you agree?
