I said "yep" !  with as much spirit as I could muster being down 3 units.

I'm curious. What do you mean when you say you're down "3 units"?
$300 based on my structure and denom.   I am on a bit of a hot streak though.   Ended the night +6 units ($600)

Sounds familiar.   In Florida we have a lot of seniors that come to the casino just to have something to do.  The "More Games" button is something they don't know anything about.  Usually, it's a nice lady that is looking for Deuces and is annoyed that the machine doesn't offer it until I show her where it is.   I have to be very careful with this because before you know it they are asking you for the correct play on every hand.  I got in trouble with this a few years ago when I gave someone a few correct hands and they started arguing with me about how to play, so I don't do it anymore.  I usually say something like "It's your money, play the way you want" or "If you want to give me your money, I'll play it for you".  That usually stops the questions.  Some people just want some company.   I don't mind chatting a little, but I don't want to become a psychiatrist (not even on TV).

When asked what the correct play is, I take the heat off myself be saying...according to Bob Dancer...

When I used to play, I felt it was VERY important to talk and watch other players play. If I were involved in an advantage opportunity, I wanted to know if the person next to me a) was also, b) knew I was, or c) was completely oblivious.

I used a method of evaluating other players called "skill targeting." While my wife would play my machine, I would watch the players on a bank of machines play, and watch someone's speed and accuracy over a decent amount of time in small installments.

I would also listen to their dialog and watch their actions. For example, most people do not buy credits off of one another (pre-ticket days), and most ignorant people don't use certain terms at the machine.

You can be coy all you want, but you cannot hide expertise if you want to win.
