Re: A year of Quads - 2011
I dont think we need to go crazy, I am not really concerned in the number of quads per x hands. What i want to see is which quads. So a simple log of the quads you get is all I would like to see. that should be simple enough and not break a NDA. no track of hands played, no track of hours, no track of which game, just if you get a quad on a single line game log it down. and lets add it up and see if it is happening as a whole.
as for your $ question, yea I lost more $ this year than any other year i ever played but not even close to your figures.

I am not really concerned in the number of quads per x hands.
Well, I tend to think that is an extremely relevant statistic, wheras the distribution of regular quads (5-king) in bonus poker, and for that matter, all quads when I play 9/6 JOB, is meaningless to me.
I have just returned from a stay at Seneca Niagara, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. Here are some numbers from my play there (Sunday afternoon through Tuesday noon).
My total hours of play were slightly over 9. I played almost exclusively 5 line 50c 8/5 bonus poker (there were 2 or 3 deals of triple line). My total points accrued for the stay were 217. At $350 per point, this calculates to a total coinin of $75950, which, in turn, calculates to 30380 hands played, and 6076 actual deals.
I had 5 sets of quad aces (6046 hands per), 12 sets of bonus (2,3,4s) quads (2532 hands per), and 47 sets of regular (5-king) regular quads (6464 hands per).
Total quads were 64, which calculates to about 475 hands per quad.
I also had one straight flush, and one royal flush.
Unfortunately, despite the promising start, with a royal on day 1, overall the trip was in the negative, down $1710, of which $210 was free play.

The game should not matter, if we all log our quads then at most the bonus quads should exceed the other 5-k quads. I have a feeling it will be quit the opposite.

I don't understand this statement at all. There are four ranks of bonus quads, and nine of regular ones. Doesn't logic suggest there will be more than twice as many regular quads as bonus ones?

I play a lot of TDB, so I will break up, for example, an Aces full house to try for that fourth ace. Not sure if play like that would skew the stats you are looking for, but I would be happy to participate. Starting my gaming year in Biloxi next week, followed by Vegas the following week.

Here are the quad results from my latest visit to Seneca Niagara, again playing 5 line 50c 8/5 bonus poker.
Total hands played for the trip - 24220.
4 aces - 5 (1 per 4844 hands)
bonus quads (2s,3s,4s) - 18 (1 per 1345 hands)
regular quads - 41 (1 per 590 hands)
I had no royals, but 5 straight flushes contributed nicely to a plus $600 for the trip.
Combining this trip result witth the previous trip gives the following.
Total play - 54600 hands
4 aces - 10 (1 per 5460 hands)
bonus quads - 30 (1 per 1820 hands)
regular quads - 88 (1 per 620 hands)
total quads - 128 (1 per 427 hands)
According to winpoker, for 8/5 bonus poker, the frequency of appearance of 4 aces is once per 5106 hands, bonus quads once per 1897 hands, and regular quads once per 610 hands.
While 54600 hands is hardly a substantial number on which to draw conclusions, these results do seem to correspond reasonably well to the predicted frequencies.

It has been awhile since I posted but I wanted to come in here real quick and say that I have quit going to the casinos (only went 2 times with the same results no little ones or aces just a bunch of garbage quads) and my results have been alot more balanced. I havn't added up what I have so far maybe I will at the end of the 1/4.
But thanks to whomever told me to quit going to those casinos (brilliant idea ). The numbers are scary in varitaion without visiting this one casino. I will post more at the end of the quarter, I have been about 25-30 times so far this year. Just got back from Harrahs NOLA, then a quick day over to Biloxi for $800 in free play. This weekend I will be in Philadelphia but I am really looking forward to my Vegas trip at the end of April. Really interested to see the numbers.
