I'm in luck. I called my Doctor today and found out he has a small vial of Biological Serum left. By the way he said to watch out for people trying to market "No Pest Stips" as thermometers.

But wait, when you're dealt 4 to the royal wouldn't you stand up, walk away a bit, turn around to look at the machine, walk back, sit down, and THEN visualize that magic card you need before pressing the button?
Way too much work for the 2 of hearts.

Mike A, I read alot of your replies and what like to ask you a question, that you might have been asked before. My question has to do with Double Bonus and DDB. I usually play DB and I am just beginning to understand pay tables. In your opinion would DB 9/7/5 pay out more lower hands and less 4 of kind than say DDB 9/6/4 paying out more 4 k's and less lower hands when you take in account variences. THe reason for my question is playing free games on VPW I seem to get alot more 4k's on DDB than on DB.
Thanks for all the good reading

You've got to be kidding, do you meen to say you would trust some quack over me? Sounds like I might be about to lose a sale so I need to fatten the pig a little more. Order your "Fever Strips" today and I'll also throw in a "Special Play Identification Card". We all know how hard it can be to recognize the mysterious and elusive special play opportunity used along with Fever Strips this multi functional card can also be used as a check cashing card, atm card and a credit card (low 22.7% finance charge), now how can you resist an offer like this. All you fat, fried chicken eating, chain smoking, addicted losers get yours now while supplies last!!!!!

Golfer44Golfer44:Interesting question. The "pat" answer would be that because of the consistency of randomness (how's that for a phrase!) it would make no difference since both games would be using the same random number routine.HOWEVER if you play PERFECT STRATEGY (or play strategy perfectly) then I believe your statement would be correct. One reason is that in many cases with DB 9/7, you are going to be going for 3-card flushes where in DDB you would go for high cards and the high cards would yield more quads if you played longer. That's my gut feel anyway. Also, at 9/7/5 on DB you are going to go for more straights where given the same hand, unless the straight contains a high card, you would be going for the low pair which would yield more quads in DDB. The numbers are displayed in VPW and you could look at the expected return on say quads and better in DDB versus the same hands in DB. I haven't looked at that before posting this response but suspect you'll see the pronounced difference in which hands return the most gain between the two games.Okay, I wasn't far off. I compared the "Frequency" with VPW "Analyze/Game" and combined all the quads on both games and left the other hands by themselves.Hand DDB DBRoyal 63 54SF 284 294Quads 6,218 6,098FH 28,224 27,624F 29,520 39,561ST 33,178 39,03830k 195,611 189,3882P 319,837 309,081JOB 549,318 511,331As you can see, more quads are obtained with DDB because the strategy calls for holding cards more favorable to drawing them. That same strategy yields a significant larger number of Straights and Flushes in DB than in DDB. I must say that I was a little surprised that DDB yielded more Full Houses than DB yields. That should give you something concrete to sink your teeth into.

Mike, Thank you for all of that information. I was expecting a yes or no, but wow you really came through. I am going to Wendover Nevada in 2 or 3 hours and this could really change what I play. I had been a hard core DB fan and depending on machine I usually can pull off a few quads, but those numbers could really make me a DDB. I have always had a difference of opinion with a friend who likes Bonus Poker, because he likes the higher pay on the 2 pair and 3 of k, where I like the higher pay for the quads. I shall have to show him your reply, that should mess with his mind.
THanks again for all your help, I will let you know the out come,

Re Shadow nearly's, didn't bring his rabbit's foot Have you considered the odds on that many 4RF's? There are only 20 combos out of a zillion hands. I can't figure the zillion. Anyone?

Don't forget that "variance" number. You will have much higher winning and losing sessions with DDB with it's 42% variance compared to the 28% on DB. Just be prepared to have to plug the DDB machines more often in waiting on those Quads.
