DB 9/7/5 vs DDB 9/6/4
I read alot of topics and would like to ask you a question, that might have been asked before. My question has to do with Double Bonus and DDB. I usually play DB and I am just beginning to understand pay tables. In your opinion would DB 9/7/5 pay out more lower hands and less 4 of kind than say DDB 9/6/4 paying out more 4 k's and less lower hands when you take in account variences. THe reason for my question is playing free games on VPW I seem to get alot more 4k's on DDB than on DB.
Thanks for all the good reading

All deals are random. Therefore, the only influence over the number of 4oaks or any hand for that matter is the cards you hold. The paytable might influence your holds but otherwise it is not a factor.

If you play dealt hands the same way in both DB and DDB then over time you'd see the same number of quads. If you play a strategy in DB that takes advantage of the better Flush/Straight pays then you'd expect to see somewhat fewer quads.

But, of course, you are slated to lose money faster in between those slightly more frequent quads in DDB, which explains the game's variance being in the 40's compared to DB's variance of 28-30.~Benford's Law

That's right - a case of where you can't get something for nothing. Somewhat more quads in DDB with higher values, but a rougher ride between 'em.
