Volatility - Jacks Or Better vs Triple Double Bonus

Post by Player422738 »

I created this chart for demonstrating the game volatility in graphical way that is more intuitive.

I simulated 100K hands. For the same dealt hand, the program plays perfect 9/6 JOB (99.54%) and 9/7 TDB (99.6%) strategies. Then I exported the aggravated result into the excel and rendered this chart.

Blue curve is JOB and orange curve is TDB.

A graphic example that playing TDB is not for the weak of heart. Or bankroll for that matter.....

After 100,000 hands, the bankrolls are pretty close but JOB is the winner with 2 royals. What does another 100,000 hands look like?

The TDB curve is very unpredictable due to its high volatility, sometimes it ends up with very high profit, sometimes it ends with way negative.

JOB is much more predictable.

Nice visual. Realistically, isn't it true that 9/7 TDB is extremely rare?

I understand that most gamblers avoid JOB, but often the game menu will include a choice of either DDB or TDB at 9/6. In that situation, I don't get the attraction of TDB when DDB offers nearly the same thrills for much higher EV.

We have one $5 9/7 TDB single line game south of me in Toledo. There are better paying games in the casino though.

I don’t think I have seen TDB 9/7 ever offered in Ct.
