Top prize was $5409.95

Bad news~

I wasn't playing MAX!
I was on my last dollar and figured "what the heck"~
I did win $250

I broke the cardinal rule of "Always play MAX~"

razuberii, look at the positve side. You have $249 more then when you hit the Deal Button. If a VP machine would give me that rate of return everytime I would be one Happy Camper.

You're right.

But my brain still hurts.  It was first official RF.

Ok here is what happened to me. It is a Ripley's "Believe it or not".
Playing $1 ,coin chunker  on Merv Griffins River Boat in Metroplis, Ill.
Playing 1 coin at a time, dealt 4 to a royal in spades, did not fill, next hand identical cards, same order, this time it filled, $250 just like you. Can't say the machine didn't warn me.

And thats fifty bucks more than a max coin nickel RF for cheapskates like me. Nice to see they're still giving out RF's. Perhaps ol rs will hit a single nickel RF during his tests. That would be both poetic and justice!

razuberii,

Congratulations on your first RF.

Same thing happened to a young man next to me the other evening. He was on his last coin (1 instead of 5) and hit quad 2's w/Ace K on Deuces Dbl Bonus.

The week before a guy behind me hit the progressive RF playing one coin followed by his best friend hitting the progressive Aces WAK playing one coin. They had more credits but were only playing one quarter at a time and the progressive was up to $1,500.

Good news - bad news department.

I once was dealt AAAA2 on the deal while playing $25 VP. That would be a $50,000 hand in DDB.

The bad news is that I was playing DW, so the hand was worth $2,000.

The worst news is that earlier in the evening I had indeed been playing DDB, but I switched to DW because I wasn't hitting anything. <sigh>

Look, the way I see it, had you put in the maximum coins, the RF probably wouldn't have come up at all. That's my philosophy! Try not to feel bad, you did win something, and you're probably due for a big one real soon.

That's probably right, SunnyAnn. Any changes to the actual betting or play will change a person's timing and they will get different results. The act of pressing "bet one" is different than "max bet".

Razuberii, OUCH on missing that progressive top dollar! I can just hear my chirpy cheerleaders saying "Hey, you have $249 more than you had before!" Small consolation if you ask me. Go get em next time with MAX! Good for you for reminding all of us of something important!
