Does Palms Free-Play Still Earn Points?

I know I was earning points while playing free-play through at the Palms until today.I've been helping my wife, who was eligible for the $1000 loss rebate, play it through.  A couple weeks ago we played, and ultimately lost, $1000 ($5 5-line Double Bonus) and played the first $300 free play through the FPDW 25c machines.We used the machine's slot club point counter to determine when we had played it through.  Worked great.We played the second $300 through the same bank tonight and the point counter didn't move.  I asked a slot tech what the deal was and she had no clue what was going on.  Sure enough, we started accumulating points after the free play was played through.Has there been a change at the Palms or is it just for this loss rebate promo?
