My story

Post by alr849 »

I have read these posts for some time now. It seems like most of the people that contribute to these forums, talk about how they lose a lot or win very little, playing video poker.

I started playing vp about three years ago and lost and lost. I played the way most of the experts say to play. Man that was hard to do ! You know being up a good amount in the night and then playing it down.

About a year and a half ago, I switched to one of the "Fa La La La La.... La la la la" methods. (I know, I know, most of you hate him).

I just try to win $100 EVERYTIME I GO TO A CASINO. I win 80% of the time.

The most I have ever lost in a day was $900 (once). This is also my daily amount I will risk.

But while trying to make $100 using these methods, I have hit three, dollar Royals during this time frame. ( also several on quarters )

My bankroll keeps growing. I know most disagree with his methods but they work if you follow them as he states. I can only go by the results I have achieved and could not be happier.

I feel confident everytime I go to the casino that I will take THEIR MONEY most of the time.

I only write this for those new players that are looking for a better way. And if you disagree ? Fine, keep playing your way.

There is nothing inherently wrong with playing a progression. If played with correct strategy on positive machines one should do no better or worse than anyone else. The one thing a progression does do is increase variance. That means it takes longer to average out one's play. The one thing a progression does NOT do is violate the laws of simple mathematics. 1+1 still equals two.

If you're doing well then that means you are hitting the good side of high variance play. This can, and has happened to many people without throwing progressions into the mix.  However, suggesting others use this approach without truly understanding that you have simply been lucky is questionable.

Finally, when I hear that people have been losing using expert play I like to hear exactly what paytables they were playing and how much they played before they determined it did not work. I've had prolonged losing streaks that last for many 100Ks hands. Yet, I still win. And, if you want to hear about that winning I'd be more than happy to tell you about my play. I've been ahead 5 out of 6 years that I've kept records and several others before then. No progressions required.

I don't think I've ever noticed in any of the post where anyone has said they lose a lot and win very little. To keep it real for you if you are willing to lose a lot you will in fact at times win a lot also. I have played VP a lot longer than 3 years and I will promise you that what goes around comes around. There is no magic method and there are no special plays. I think Shadowman and I play different types of games and he is probably a little more consevative than myself yet I pretty much have the same results that he has had. Why would you say everyone here hated Fa La La La La.... La la la la?

I have not seen people say they lose a lot or win a little either and
I do try to read a lot here.  People mostly share fun stories and
strategies. Another forum maybe or maybe I missed it.

I also do not know why you think people do not like Fa La La La La.... La la la la here I have
seen people discuss his strategy. There is only one person here who I
know does not like him much (and it is not shadow either) but most
everyone has talked about his strategies fine in the past. Dumbest
thing was he came here and was mean and did not prove anything or show
anything and then was kicked. I was sad about that because his strategy
is not talked about much any more but it doesnt' seem to make math
sense any way from what I saw (other than increasing bets to a point).

Any way, nice to
see you, have fun here!

being a newbie here ,I have to ask, who is Fa La La La La.... La la la la?
What is his method. I have been playing poker for almost 60 years, although I am new to video poker I am sure I have seen it all. Oh the stories I could tell! I am looking forward to the info. Thanks.

You might start my exploring this subforum that was set up just for him and his theories.

If you can get good info out of it, I'll be a bit surprised, however.  There was just a wee bit of bickering going on at the time. Enjoy!

Webman, thanks for the link. I viewed it once before. I just didn't connect it with the name "Fa La La La La.... La la la la". I re-read it and have concluded (for myself) that as in life there is no magic bullet in poker play. If whatever system you use gives you confidence and increases the enjoyment level of your play then by all means go with it. I played in a table stakes game  once a week for 14 years . I kept a log of my +/- totals and after all was said and done I came out even. My winnings were some very good friends and a helluva good time, FREE!    Thanks again for your help.

Sounds like a Fa La La La La.... La la la la "plant" or a Fa La La La La.... La la la la "alias",
I say a Fa La La La La.... La la la la alias.

Wow great Alr849. Why don't you elaborate and tell us about if you met argentino in Vegas. Did he show you all 1704 special plays? Did you use his slot card? Did you win? What denom's and progression did you play ex: single play, RTT , Advanced RTT? Oh the best thing is did he show you how to detect machines in a cold or hot cycle?
Thanks for your answers.
