State whether or not you have won....

Post by DaBurglar »

In this thread please confine your posts to a simple statement which summarizes what your video poker results since 2010 have been.....have you been a WINNER during the past 5 years overall, or a loser or have you broken even......DO NOT muddy the water with inclusion of comps or giveaways, etc.   ONLY focus on actual Video Poker play results....Here is my input (and again, PLEASE try to confine your answer to a clear conclusion stating your results):I am definitely UNPROFITABLE the last 5 years and I have seen very few handpays and exceptional hits.

If you can't include mailers, free play, drawings, and other cash received from casinos which was generated by my video poker play --- I'm losing. If that money weren't there, I wouldn't be playing. It's not my job to support casinos. But if you do include all cash items, I'm winning. Comps are extra.

i think all cash offers should be included, unless you are a celebrity and receive endoresements, speaking fees, teaching lessons, etc.   i have stated many times, i am a loser.

My results only go back to April 2014. I am a loser even with the comps/free play/promotions even though I thought I was near 100%

I'm a small winner.  I don't get many comps unless you want to count drinks.

Comps are extra. Thanks for responding Bob,  I appreciate, understand and even agree with what you have stated in this post, but again, my focus and emphasis with this thread is to examine ONLY the "machines-results-trends" aspect of this ongoing "debate".....The reason is simple:  not everyone plays at the same level of denomination, the same amount of TOTAL TIME (i.e.  a professional player such as Yourself, the one and only Bob Dancer, versus serious but lesser known players who perhaps play two or three days a week, or more...versus the twice monthly players ....versus the once every three months  versus the twice yearly, etc.)        The only real COMMON denominator is HOW the machines act, and what if any trends and characteristics they notice with their results over the time periods being discussed.....Obviously this is not going to be "perfect" nor will it provide a true blue CONCLUSION to anything in terms of ending debates, but it will at least settle the simple question of WHAT are people saying/perceiving/noticing with their VP play results over the last 5 years versus the previous years...that's all.    But it is a start to actually defining the issue.....FYI -- ideally we would not see anyone decisively stating that they are either getting WORSE results over the lasr 5 years compared to the previous 5 years, nor would we expect a lot of people to say they are WINNING BIG over the same comparitive time period.....we should see MOST people saying "there is little if any perceived difference" other than "some" years being up and some being down due to expected variance.    My point all along is that VP over the last 4-5 years has seen things deteriorate well below and beyond the expected boundaries of statistical variance......the games simply do not behave or yield the same type of results (i.e.  there are a lot more "DUDS" or non-paying hands in the overall statistical mix and this has resulted in greater and more consistent losses.I apologize for elaborating here but since Bob went above and beyond what I asked for (not that I blame him, but perhaps my request was somewhat unrealistic), I felt behooved to clarify and discuss.....Please, continue the input, thanks a bunch.    This makes for good, RELEVANT, interesting reading and discussion without the Rancor......

I lost. Fact is I don't know anyone who can say they honestly won. Now I knew and accepted I was going to lose in the first place so losing comes as no surprise to me in the first place, I played because I enjoyed playing the games and the experience. To me it was no different than going to a theme park or maybe even a movie, it was fun. I can honestly say that I played for many, many years and hovered around the actual paytables, no big surprises. About the best paytables you can find for the game I play around these parts is 98.98% and that's what I stuck to playing. I have no problem accepting a small fee like 1.02% for the value I receive playing a game I enjoy. I do however tend to get a little ticked off when I can't come close to the 98.98% over and over again, that's why I played the game in the first place, to limit losses doing something I enjoyed. During the last few years I'm coming in at just over 95% payback,I keep waiting for it to turn around but it's actually pretty steady. A decent run is followed by a horrible run, I keep waiting for the hits to come but they somehow do a great job of avoiding me, not completely but often enough to insure I remain in the 95% payback percentage, it's frustrating and hard to understand. During one bad streak I made 13 trips to the casino playing $2 denom DDB at max play on machines that had the 98.98% paytable and never hit a hand pay, not one. Now I still hold on to the hope that nothing has really changed and it's possible it hasn't but it's still hard to not think that maybe it has.
