Super Times Pay Question?
Does anyone know what condition triggers the mutiplier in Super Times Pay Poker or is it just a random event?

For a 6 credit bet, it is just a 1 in every 15 hands chance that it triggers/procs to randomly awards a multiplier ranging from 2x-10x. The average multiplier when triggered is on average 4.05x times your winning adds about (0.27 - 0.28% to your overall return if you do 4.05 divided by 15).

I asked that because it seems like I hardly ever get one when playing on this website. Guess it's just bad luck...

When playing STP either in casino or on this website it seems whenever I finally get a decent multiplier I get a crappy hand to go with it. The possibility of a decent hand and a decent multiplier at the same time is there so I think that is what keeps up that play it going back for more.

The possibility of a decent hand and a decent multiplier at the same time is there so I think that is what keeps up that play it going back for more.I've "perceived" the same thing on all STP machines I have played, as well as similar games with a similar "gimmick", like GOOD TIMES PAY and of course ULTIMATE X!What you need to do is simply keep track of any and all hands that give you a multiplier, make note of what you received and the final result, and make note of the TOTAL hands played in that particualr session. Do this for about 6 months and then see what you have.....FYI it is easier than most people think to simply keep track of and note such "exceptions" in the course of your plat, just jot it down in shorthand and clean it up later. Figuring your total hands played is not hard either, as long as you know your beginning point balance and how many points each hand played adds to the total, you can do the math at the end of each session for a TOTAL hands played!FYI: I think this may actually be an example of "semi-rigged" play (or a feature of play) whereby the manner of the game itself in which it resolves each hand of play SOMEHOW makes it unlikely a Multipler shows up with a WINNING payable hand ......think about this for a second.......we know the actual CARDS that comprise our hand is random, but in the case of STP the multiplier shows up BEFORE the actual hand/cards are finished being DEALT!!! There is room here for a possible scenario whereby when the RANDOM multiplier function is triggered, it in turn TRIGGERS a sub-program that reconciles the end result against some other algorithm or results matrix......SERIOUSLY, with these multipliers and gimmick games, there exists the possibility that the casino could really get clobbered in the short term by a couple REALLY lucky players! Think about it......imagine a Roveer or some other agressive player playing $1 ten line STP TDB......they catch dealt 2s with a kicker and a multiplier of 5....BOOM there goes $100,000 !!!! Then 45 minutes later the player gets one or two QUad aces with a kicker out of ten lines with a 8 multiplier.....BOOM! There goes $32,000 - $64,000! If the machine plays and acts like what I consider "normal" game king VP machines, you can get really hot and VOILA!but the fact is, of all my time playing these "gimmick" games, there is something indeed that prevents the REALLY outrageous and HUGE payouts from happening anywhere near the scale or frequency you might think it would happen IF everything was as "normally" random as other Non gimmick machines seem to be......SOMETHING just is different...or "OFF" when it comes to the hands dealt and final results with games like STP and Good times PAY, and Ultimate X......

In theory, this game requires for the stars to be aligned in order to see the benefits of the gimmick.
1 out of 15 is not frequent for sure, and it would take about 1 in 6350 single-line hands of play (significantly less for multiline) to experience a multiplied quad which will make the extra coin investment worthwhile. I think the infrequency is the reason this game is often offered multi-line. The 5 star poker game on this website has a single line offering. I used quads because most people here play DDB or TDB for its larger payout.
I think if Phil is willing to give it another go, the thrill of getting a multiplied quad will be experienced.

I like the game, but I think it would be more fun if the odds were dropped a little so the multiplier could come up a little more often. I don't think it's rigged. I think the reason you get the multiplier mostly with bad hands is because bad hands are most common. It does look like an easy way to manipulate the payout without obviously tampering with the RNG? I'm really getting into Multi-Strike lately. It looks like a good game in nickels if you can find it. I'll have to look for it the next time.

If it is regulated by the state's gaming commission, the RNG has to be totally random like any other class III video poker game. It cannot be dependant on the cards that get drawn (10x for garbage) or no multiplier (for dealt flushes). I did notice that card by card is drawn, and randomly a multiplier can be triggered from it.
I am assuming that if for each card that gets drawn, there is a 1.3% chance to trigger a multiplier, it will be simulating the 1 in 15 (0.06667%) chance to get one. The 1 in 15 is stated in the help menu context I've noticed, but the WizardOfOdds page has a through analysis.
(1.013)^5 = 1.06667
Like chatty mentioned, I have had garbage hands dealt when the multiplier proc'ed. A fair number of times I was dealt a 3 of a kind and got a 3x multiplier.
Thinking about it, the single coin cheap system works similarly to Super Times Pay. On a Deuces Wild game where Full House and 4oaK pays 4 to 1, there is about slightly better than 10% (1 in 10 hands) chance to get Full House or Better to switch to max coins where you get 5x multiplier (for additional cost of 4 coins) and a 2% royal flush bonus.

Most CET properties should have it, so Reno or Cherokee later on. There is no single coining, must bet 20 credits to get the feature, so for nickles it is dollar a push. The paytables are way worse than what you are accustomed to. You can use Video Poker for Winners to get correction.
If you have plans to meet Bob at the South Point, its the best place to play Multi Strike that I know of.

It did dawn on me that Multi-Strike Poker has a lot in common with the Cheap Strategy. I guess that's why I like it so much. I like games with a small hourly cost and the possible chance of a big reward. If you can play the game for hours at a time and still have a decent chance of a significant jackpot it works for me. I hate games like DDB that eat up your money so fast that you can't last long enough to see the goods hands. I lot of people would probably disagree with me on this as it's one of the most popular video poker games.
