Have the monthly contests start earlier in the day so that those of us on the east coast and midwest don't have to wait so long to begin competing.

I too would like to see this implemented. I'm on East Coast time and have to leave for work before the contests start and by the time I get home the scores are so incredibly high its discouraging. The vast majority of the time I only play one session, if any at all.

The other thought I had is an TOC entry for the "greatest loser". I used to play a lot of sessions and year after year I've never placed in the top ten, rarely gotten anywhere near the top of the bonus contests, and have never gotten an alternative entry. Its discouraging enough for me that I play about a quarter of what I used to, (I have plenty of other things I can do to waste my life away :) )

I'd guess there are lots of others that play far more than I, and it seemed appropriate to reward the player that had the most sessions played who didn't make it into the tourney with an honorary entry.

Now that I am a Gold member, I think you should have separate contests for gold and free members. You have so many members now, it would not be a bad idea to allocate the majority of the prize money to the Gold members. That would also be an incentive for more free members to become gold members. Congratulations on having the best video poker website in the industry. Out of curiosity, of the over 300,000 members, how many are gold members?

I have been advocating that for years chatty. Last time I asked there was less than 5.000 gold.

They can't! This would make the site an "online gambling" site. Which btw is illegal in the U.S.A.

Here's what I can't figure out. How can this site's winners get hands that occur 1 in 600,000 EVERY DAY? Not possible if you're not fixing the results, the game or the winners in some way. Why does the nearly impossible happen every day on this site? See poster's comment below-if most people can't hit, how can the winners hit a dealt royal or dealt AAAkicker in TDB every contest?

I Have one loosen the machines up a little bit. I know several people who don't even play the contests anymore. I myself get discusted sometimes play 4 sessions before I get one 4 of a kind.  Boring throw us a bone once in awhile. I don't care what the game is I love poker, more hands would be a plus for me also.

EDOG. Lets say for arguments sake that 5,000 out of the 300,000 are Gold members. On the daily and end of month contests it would be nice to only have a pool of 5,000 to compete against instead of 300,000. The few times I have been on the leader board have been exciting but short lived. For instance today out of my 100 pulls in one of my sessions I drew 4 sevens on the bottom and 4 twos with a kicker on the bottom and ended up with a score of around 150,000 I believe. I was playing DDB. At the time I was in eighth place on the leader board. Less than an hour later I was no longer on the leader board.

To me a smaller pool would make the contests a lot more interesting. If we are paying $80 a year for a membership as opposed no nothing, it would be nice to have this benefit extended to us. The benefit to videopoker.com is that it would in my opinion generate more GOLD members. Everybody involved would benefit.

Well, let's look at the actual numbers. The last Daily Contest had 24,594 sessions completed. 100 deals per session. That's 2,459,400 deals. If something happens 1/600,000 times on average, we should see about of 4 of them every day.So I don't find it surprising at all, but expected, in a perfectly fair game.

Chatty if you look at the results of yesterdays daily contest there were 3,995 participants. You are not competing against all 300k not even close. All your concerns have been asked by me and answered by webman. If you look in the archives of the forum you will see many posts about your concerns.

EDOG I understand the math. A pool of 5000 Gold members represent 1 in 60 compared to a pool of over 300,000 total members. This is a current issue brought up by Webman. They are looking for ideas to make the contests more interesting. I mostly play for fun and to hone my skills for when we go to the casinos but I would enjoy it more if I saw my name on the leaderboard or perhaps won a contest. Overall for me anyway, because of this, I enjoy the personal challenges more than the daily and monthly contests. Webman if you are out there perhaps you can address my concerns.
