Changing the Monthly Contest Structure
I had sent Webman a private message about this, but I wanted to bounce it here to see what others think:
Put simply, just give us 15,000 hands to start with right at the beginning of the month - and we can play those 15,000 hands whenever we want during the month.
It is totally absurd that the contest should be broken into discrete chunks, and limited to the amount of hands you could play in a single day. It is an insult to my intelligence (and others on the board who REALLY understand video poker) not to have the ability to partition the play of my hands as I see fit during the course over an extended time period.
I think adjustments can be made to list the daily score, and the amount of hands that player has played.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Videopokerjesus 14,555 Hands played: 3,000
Your thoughts,
Greg

I think Webman would rather you come to the site every day, not once a month.
The more people come to this site daily, the more money they make from the ads.

The monthly contest right now is only 150 hands per month (155 for some), so if you had 15,000 hands a month, I think you would win every month?
Huh? The monthly contest is 5 sessions per day, 100 hands per session. That comes to 500 hands per day, 15000 hands for a 30 day month, and 15500 for 31 days.

Yes, the Monthly Contest is set at 500 hands per day broken up into five, 100-hand sessions.
So Faygo, why is it fine just the way it is?

And that's why I hardly play it. Too hard to play EVERY day of the month.

So in other words, you play 14,000 hands over 28 days, you are leading the contest - and all of a sudden on the 29th day you cannot play and you just played for nothing??
If that's OK with anyone, the only thing that I could say is WOW!

Oh, in that case......
Seriously, I think it is something that at a minimum we need to re-examine for some flexibility between maintaining site traffic and not being totally honed to an absolute, daily commitment.
