I am in AC as I type this.....I will ask about Caesars and/or Bally's since they are located centrally to everything else and are right smack dab in the middle of the boardwalk.
Everyone Be forewarned, Since the first of the year up to this very moment the VP is HORRIFIC here, absolutely gawd awful smelly lousy HORRIFIC.....and the customer service in general is sorely lacking (and you will be SORE trust me!) Did I mention how HORRIFIC the Vid.....eh never mind. I think the important thing is for us to meet as a group and provide moral support and comraderie and friendship, and we should all be nice to one another and try to get along because when it comes to trouble it doesnt rain, it pours!
I will report back on what I find out, I will be asking about the last weekend in APril (4/26 - 4/27) and the first two weekends in MAY (may 3 - may 4 & May 10-May 11)
Anyone with anything to add or a better way of doing this, speak up NOW!!!!

Anyone with anything to add or a better way of doing this, speak up NOW!!!! So Burglar are you trying to make the East coast meet & greet a reality or are you trying to dissuade people from doing it? I'm wondering if you routinely say: table for 1?

Well, folks, I just heard back from the GM of Caesars AC (also Bally's and Showboat), and they are not interested. I know the folks @ VP.Com have been frustrated in their attempts to get a deal struck. My 'nose' tells me that they view VideoPoker.Com, even though it currently is a non-gambling website, as a potential competitor of their own internet gaming offerings, now that New Jersey Gov Christie has signed up the state as legal for internet gaming.
I am not sure if the VP.Com folks are going to reach out to any other properties in AC, but for now, the only thing that could happen would be an 'informal' gathering that one of our players that is local to AC may want to try and pull together.
Bummer..

Well Billyhoe's reply, which I now JUST read, pretty much explains the dead ends I ran into trying to simply put together a VP "Group Party Discount Gathering type thingamajig".....I did NOT mention the website or anything specific, I just said we had a "large" group a VP Players who communicate online and we want to get together for a couple days. I asked at Caesars like I said and was totally blown off.....they were just NOT interested even after I essentially BS'd and said it would be AT LEAST 100 people (this was after i was getting no where with the marketing department idiots, I just figured they needed a little motivation....)I'm not going to rehash this incerdibly frustrating ordeal, but I got the impression they really dont care about attracting VP players, at least not as a group. I think this bears out what a lot of us have been saying lately, given the disappearance of VP games and the endless sea of 1 cent light shows that clog the casinos these days. I just find it mind boggling that any casino (other than Borgata) would turn away business in AC....maybe I should have asked REVEL???? The fact is, AC is a joke, pure and simple.....it really is. I would have liked to meet you all and show you (even shadowman and those of you who hate my devils advocate role) that I am not the A-hole I pretend to be online. I LOVE PEOPLE! and dogs.... But seriously, I am going to post more about the patheticness of AC and its VP in another thread in hopes I help other player avoid the same pitfalls. And I apologize for striking out,,,,I just know If I had tried this same tact and approach in Vegas or Reno they would have bent over backwards offering me tips and suggested visit dates, etc. SCRU AC!

The "new" total rewards program is just the latest xample of how Caesar's Corporations overwhelming debt load is impacting their operations and business, and no where is it more keenly felt than in AC. The new Total rewards thresholds, where 15000 is the new diaomond and 150,000 is the new 7 star levels, and where the diamond level has within it three "aspiration" levels, are absurdly high and complicated. The new Daily Bonus point awards whereby if you earn a certain amount you qualify for BONUS points are just shameless ways this company hypocritically encourages people to bet beyond their means and bankrolls.....think about it! They plaster all over their literature and their properties the 1-800-Gambler helpline, and they go on TV telling everyone to bet with their head not over it, and yet they brazenly come out with this new scheme to get people to play MORE and MORE during each gaming day/stay....it stinks. I have had it with the Caesar's properties in AC, especially Caesars Place and Ballys, they suck in my book. It started with their 10 comp dollar charge to use the diamond club....this is total robbery. We all know that 10 comp dollars (or 1000 RCs) in the Caesar's system represents $10,000 coin in for Video Poker players....that is totally unfair. And yet to set an amount of 25000 points as a threshold for any player to reach and their Diamond Lounge is free, what about players (like ME) who reached 24,975 points last year and didnt quite make 25,000? Of course, when I ask for a little consideration, they say "nope, sorry". I have found, in fact, that NO is the favorite word of all Caesar's hosts. This is the same company which insists in this day and age of sending out PAPER free slot play tickets perforated so we can tear them off and insert them, yet they stamp them with SPECIFIC single dates so that you are obligated to be there on that day only, instead of say, crediting it electronically like any modern company and allowing a range of time to redeem the free play. It is absurd! And I am sick of their 13 dollar per night charge on my "free" room"....from now on if I go to AC I am staying at Resorts and ATlantic Club who only charge 5 bucks per night! I mentioned this before but it is worth repeating.....AC revenues for the year February 2012 thru Feb 2013 were down ANOTHER 13%, no surprise there. But they INSIST on continuing to blame the economy and the competition in Pennsylvania and now in NYC itself. I say BS, AC is to Blame for AC! They are their own worst enemies on so many fronts but here is one: MArketing and advertising. I live in Western Massachusetts and also in Connecticut.....everyday I see advertising on TV for Las Vegas and also our local Foxwoods-Mohegan SUn tribal offerings......in the last 5 years guess how many ads I have seen for AC, either the city itself or the individual properties there?? If you said ZERO give yourself a scooby snack.....thats right ZERO.....ZIP ZILCH NADA. No advertising whatsoever for AC up here.....wtf do they expect? Anyone else want to Vent about AC??

My perspective is a little different. When I first saw the new thresholds, I was a little concerned, since we (my wife and I playing on one card) barely reached the 15000 level last year. However, when I looked at the entire package, particularly the daily bonuses, I thought: "This isn't bad at all". We went on one of the Laughlin junkets a week ago. In two days play, we exceeded the 15000 diamond threshold, thanks to two of those shameless 5000 point bonuses. We are now diamond , based on just two days play, until March, 2015. In fact, my worry is that if a substantial number of players respond like we did, they will tighten things up.

yes doris, going to Harrahs on the 19th to get my "free" jacket.
I guess this is something we need to plan ourselves. Why don't we just we pick a day and try to meet. Dinner?, Drinks? complaining we can't hit a jackpot? whoever can make it great, whoever can't, no big deal. Just a thought.
