You know that is only half the year! The other half, being the construction season, is simply too beautiful!  Winters are getting milder most every year except this past year where the snow fall set some sort of record. Usually our winters are down to Jan and Feb now.....unless we get early snow in Nov and late snow in April.

My female casino partner will be in Detroit for Women's Nationals end of this month. Can you recommend one casino over another perhaps? I don't know what part of Detroit or how big the city is, only that she's going.

Marie I guess it is better than the UP. They have two seasons, Winter and July.
 
Ed It has been a while since I was there. I do know that Greektown is reputed to have the best Vp, however they do not have a Hotel. Both the Motor City Casino and the MGM Grand have hotels. All three are a short cab ride apart no more than a couple of miles. If she intends to venture into Canada, need um Passport and another Picture ID.Wish her luck!

Can you recommend one casino over another perhaps?       I have a close love-hate relationship with all three of them, primarily depending on which one is smiling on me on a given day. However, they could not complain about the new MGM Detroit, left on Bagley, as heading S on the Lodge (route 10) south of 94. If heading S on I 75, take Davison West (right) to left ramp to the Lodge. Easy parking and easy to find. Check out MGM CASINO web site. It's huge. The PALETTE buffet is spacious and based on an artist's studio. Another eatery, BREEZE, is cool for grabbing a quick lunch and has RELISH (hamburg, hot dogs, etc) BAMBOO (Asian), RED SAUCE (Italian), CRUNCH (deep fried) and SWEET (yummy) sections with a central dining area. Greektown Casino has charming brick-walled Grape Vine restaurant on first floor, snack bar on second floor and many interesting ethnic type restaurants across Monroe or Beaubien streets.  Motor City casino, very near MGM and just West off the Lodge, has great auto related buffet. Both Greektown and MotorCity have had recent, extensive renovations.

How does she feel about taser's.? Marie do you carry a taser or ever think you should? As far as I know, she doesn't carry any sort of weapons or defense mechanisms. She said that nothing is worth your life over. I couldn't have agreed more. She did however, buy a canister of mace for her daughter in SF.
