Re: Photo Cell Phone
There are cell phones and there are cell phones. After going low grade in the past I decided to go for a smartphone last fall (Cingular 3125). The camera is only so-so but I can access the pictures immediately after syncing with my laptop using USB. I also use the cell phone as my ISP (it's how I'm accessing the internet right now) and have dropped my previous ISP. It's not much faster than dial-up but I can use it anywhere my cell phone works without seaching for local phone numbers. I can also run winpoker on it.

A lot of the folks where I work have Blackberry units. They got it so they could monitor their company eMail. We get a lot of "official" notifications via eMail concerning approvals for Production Installs of projects we work on and delays in communication are just not acceptable. I don't qualify for one because I am SUPPOSED to be at home and glued to my computer anyway. The main purpose for me even having a cell phone is so that my wife and I can stay in touch when on casino runs. We tried Walkie Talkies but found in many locations, there was too much interference. Besides, those things are really bulky. So, low end is the way I go. I doubt that I spend 30 minutes a month using mine.

Sounds like we use them about the same. A couple of years ago we were considering eliminating our cell phone. Then we put our house up for sale and needed one. We also decided having two would be nice when we in casinos. That's why I need more justifications to get a nice one. Winpoker would have been enough for me but not my wife. Then I figured out I could get rid of long distance and my ISP and my local phone services (MN and NV). The net savings doesn't cover our entire cell phone bill but it justifed a little nicer pair of phones.

I'm not familiar with your specific phone, MikeA, but most phones have data cables available for them (look on eBay -- they're nearly always cheaper there than in a store), and 99% of data cables let you do more than just sync the contacts on the phone. I refuse to pay to e-mail myself the pictures off of my phone, and I'm not keen on paying to download ringtones, either. The data cable for my current phone (Nokia) and my previous phone (Samsung) lets me move photos off my phone on to my computer, and also lets me move ringtones from my computer to my phone, all at no cost (aside from the initial cost of the cable).

Bluetooth, Blackberry UNITS.
I have seen "green teeth" on my 3rd cousin Linville, is a bluetooth worse than that. I gave Linville a new brush and a giant tube of Ipani.
Blackberry UNIT. I got kicked in the 6th playing at recess and a blackberry unit kept me home from school for 3 days. I hated that cause I missed the school lunches and had to eat what mama fixed. Soup. BLahhh.

I'm not familiar with my phone either Knagl! It hasn't been delivered. I have been checking out both Bluetooth Dongals and Data Cables on eBay. So far, the software being sold for data transfer on phones that mostly don't have the capability, do not list my phone as one of those they've "hacked".
I'm praying for a miracle. Maybe a data cable will show the phone as a removable disk drive. Maybe I can fake the phone out by making it think my computer is a Bluetooth Printer. I have screen capture software that will let me capture anything displayed on the screen.

MikeA-
The data cables can be found for a song on eBay, and the 'official' LG software is $40 on their website. While it says that the software can do "Phone Book Manager, Internet Data Connect, Ringtone Composer, Image Editor and Calendar," it also says "Not all handsets support all functions. Check handset owner's manual for compatibility."
Don't know what to tell you, other than... good luck!

Okay. Got the phone. Nope, no way other than eMail to get pictures taken off of the phone onto a computer with the LG CG300. Great little phone other than that though.More later. Gotta go play with the grandkid!

Mike, My Motorola Razr has a spot for a micro SD memory card (under the battery). After a transfer of phone pic to SD Card you could pull the card to transfer to computer. I also have a usb cable came with the phone and I *think* I can just transfer the pics that way too. 'Course nothing with computers ever goes as smoothly as the instructions imply!
