None of mine will be deleted. Cd's are gems and mine are golden, full of meaning and are to be savored like fine wine or cheap wine in this guys case.

You're right, oej.  Mine may be gems, but yours have value beyond words; they are truly priceless.

Spoken like a true Fa La La La La.... La la la la dinger Master J. let them learn the darkside of special plays and pattern prediction, then they might get a clue. Argentino called the locals idiots for taking advantage of multiple points days and BB/CB offers. Dancer who recommends doing just that for those who frequently visit the casino must really be an idiot then. A premier player who practically plays for a living and rob thinks his methods might be better. Even from his cell, OEJ smelled a rat. (or a weasel!)

If rob was a computer screen the error message that would constantly appear is:

ID-10-T.

change of subject;most of you on here i consider professional vp players.my question is,if you use a credit card, say $500.00 when you're low,can you put the high interest charges onto gambling costs,up to your winnings, even though you are not a selfemployed irs form user?

I'm not a tax expert, but I can't imagine any situation where interest charges for credit card cash advances could be considered part of gambling losses, so I say "no".    The answer might be different for someone filing as a professional gambler, as a business expense deduction, but I don't think so.

I just checked my tax preparation software from last year, and it doesn't have anything in it that allows anything other than actual losses to be included in gambling losses.  Here's a link to the IRS site that has info for non-professional players.

If a professional has to put $500 on a credit card to gamble then he is not a professional. He is more of an addict.

Like CD said, if you were a professional gambler, it might be debatable, but if you ever got audited, how would you explain to the IRS an interest expense being deductible on a personal credit card when you're not a professional gambler??

I actually was discussing this with my dad the other night about my gambling losses, as he is a cpa. Since I have $10,000 of gambling winnings via a w2g this year, i was asking about whether i could deduct my losses. you of course can only deduct up to the amount you won and my problem is that i don't make that much money and you are automically given $5,000 of deductions so any benefit will not be that much assuming i have enough losses.

By the way, I took a few cash advances on my last trip and made a payment over the amount to my credit card immediately upon my return online. If you make a payment right away, the finance charges will be minimal. And you should set up a pin on your credit card so you avoid having to pay the casino a 6% fee (.... on top of the 3% credit card fee + finance charges.) Luckily, by taking the cash advance I had enough money to keep playing until i got my money back but taking a cash advance is generally a bad idea. I've taken them so i know!!

good answers.also i've noticed if the atm machine is with your credit card bank, charges are a little lower.they love to sock it to gamblers,as they don't realize we're just trying to pad our income as they are too.
as far as professionals vs addicts,it is a fine line depending how much self control, and or winnings ,lucky one is at winning.
