Re: SOOPER DOOPER.....Bowl time!
My prediction if Brady fully recoveres from his bad cold is Pats 32 Seattle 24. If it is still bothering him, Pats 28 Seattle 27. All a guess of course. Anything " can and will happen". I think either way, the game will be fairly high scoring. Last thing football needs now after all of the deflategate stuff is a dull boring game.

I think either way, the game will be fairly high scoring. Last thing football needs now after all of the deflategate stuff is a dull boring game.I hope you CORRECT!!!!! But let me tell everyone WHY I believe Seattle will win, as I EXPAND upon my previous explanation of how, USUALLY, in Super Bowls the team with the superior DEFENSE comes out on top:The actual SUPER BOWL game itself is played differently than your typical regular season game.......we all know why and how this is the case, simply because of the NUMEROUS timeouts that happen due to the television and advertising requirements that comprise today's version of the "BIG GAME" (i.e. SUPER BOWL)......The NFL makes HUGE bank off of this event, as do the two teams playing and anyone associated with the actual playing event (the referees/officials make a lot of money as do the union they belong; the attendants and stadium people/owners etc et al) The way the revenue is generated in LARGE part is the TV commercials so there are numerous "TV timeouts" that happen during the SUPER BOWL that do not happen in a regular NFL game, in addition to the regular TEAMS actual timeouts, official timeouts to allow refs to get a drink or change whistles or to wipe the chains and sideline markers etc. In other words, it takes a LOT LONGER to play a half of the Super bowl than it does a regular NFL game during the regular season........there is also slightly MORE time between quarters (i.e. between first and second quarter and between 3rd and 4th quarter) to allow fans and VIP attendees to use the facilities and (of course) to purchase all manner of the stadium's overpriced concessions/food/beverages/souvenirs etc.; .......and finally, of course, there is the spectacle-within-the-spectacle, the vastly over-hyped, 30 minute HALFTIME show/concert/event, which means there is actually a TOTAL of about 35-40 minutes between the first and second half!!!!!Do you all see where I am going with these points/observations? This is a subtle aspect of the SUPER BOWL that most casual fans overlook, but which most serious fans, and especially ANALYSTS and GAME BOOKIES (like your average Vegas Sports BOOK manager or line analyst) understand......all this extra time and frequent timeouts GREATLY helps the DEFENSE of each team!! As the super bowl has become more and more "elaborate" and more of a spectacle, the need for more and more "TIME" to generate revenue has resulted in allowing the DEFENSIVE units of both competing teams the chance to REST and make adjustments and substitutions during the course of the actual game........hence the resulting favor for the DEFENSE, and hence the team with the BEST defense having a clear advantage......the actual RESULTS of the past 15 or so super bowls clearly show this theory to actually be true.......a lot of low(er) scoring affairs (or conversely a few blowouts with the team with the DOMINANT defense clobbering the other), and with most end results having the team with the best defense (either perceived or actually demonstrated) coming out on top!! Therefore, since Seattle has a better defense, I choose them to (probably) win the game......but the advantage is NOT decisive, and The Patriots Defense is NO slouch itself, so I do have some STRONG hope my team somehow prevails.....That aside, the NEW rules and the trend for rule changes over the years have clearly been in favor of the OFFENSE, and have been intended to INCREASE the amount of scoring in each game under the theory that the majority of NFL fans WANT to see more scoring (especially PASSING related scoring!) But ask yourself this.....when was the LAST time you saw a Super bowl that truly involved a "SHOOTOUT" (i.e. an OFFENSIVELY dominant, high scoring game where BOTH teams score a lot of points via their OFFENSE) between the two teams???? Oh sure, there have been BLOWOUTS (like last year when Seattle clobbered Denver 43-8 or in 2000 when Baltimore beat the NY giants 41-7....both games involved a VASTLY superior DEFENSE actually scoring a lot of points while stifling the opposing OFFENSE....2002 Tampa BAy over the Raiders by a HUGE margin is another example of Defense DOMINATING) One possible exception was when my PAtriots beat Carolina 32-29, but even that game, during the first half there was VERY little scoring, and the game remained low until the actual 4th quarter when BOTH teams Offensively seemed to spring to life.....but for the majority of the game, BOTH defenses dominated......Who agrees or disagrees with this intircate analysis and / or theory???? if you disagree with my theory on the TIME allotment during a SUPER BOWL favoring the defense

Look for Brady to look off the safety, and throw downfield to whoever Sherman is singled with on some sort of double move. Sherman wants to be the hero with interceptions, and will be jumping routes.

Interesting point.....although I would tend to disagree with this analysis and instead look for Brady (when he does either play action or single back, under the center pass play snaps) to try and beat the other corner back (i.e. connect with whoever Richard Sherman is not covering)....Brady tends to NOT take the pre-game bait by the opposing team's best cover-corner, but on the other hand, since this is the SUPER BOWL and final game of the year and in front of a national stage, you might actually be correct MPD001 in that Brady's ego gets the best of him........OF COURSE, with Seattle's vaunted Pass rush, I foresee Brady in the SHOTGUN looking to get rid of the BALL in less than 2.5 seconds with short passes over the middle to the GRONK......I foresee the PAtriots living or dying with their ultimate, best weapon on OFFENSE, Gronkowski, because we all know the PATRIOTS will NOT be able to run the ball very much versus the seahawk front seven, and we all know that if Brady does the DROP back to pass routine more than a few times the Seattle pass rush WILL eventually nail him, the only realistic (but still POTENT) weapon or method of attack for the Patriots is short over the middle passing to Gronk and perhaps guys like Brandon Lafell or Tim Wright (the other "forgotten" tight end the Patriots have who is a starter on any other NFL team that does not have a Gronk to throw to!)Thanks for that interesting post MPD001......since you are new to posting here, I encourage you to post more! tell us your FULL formal prediction for the score and end result for the Big Game this Sunday!??!

How many times have the San Francisco 49er's, the Green Bay Packers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Miami Dolphins been accused of cheating? Much less, found to be actually cheating?
Yes the NFL Network does broadcast 24 hours a day but howmuch of that is a re-broadcast? Or how many times do they air "Brian's Song?"

Yes the NFL Network does broadcast 24 hours a day but howmuch of that is a re-broadcast? Or how many times do they air "Brian's Song?" Ok, before I post in response to this fishy (and clearly sarcastic) post (I mean, come on, what was the point of the "Brian's song" jab??).....let it be known that I am NOT merely posting a response simply because "someone" has disagreed with me and I am now "MAD" or "Pissed OFF" or whatever else certain individuals like to (incorrectly) attribute to my counter-posts.......and the actual ANSWER to "How many times is Brian's song aired on NFL network?" is........NONE (at least NONE in the last month or so since I became a regular viewer of NFL network.)Well, since all those teams you mentioned played during the era when there were only three major TV Networks and (in the case of Green bay, Pittsburgh-of-the-70s, and Miami) there was NO ESPN even (ESPN came on the scene circa 1979), the media scrutiny that exists today means that MOST sports related problems, scandals and issues (no matter how big or small or important) went totally "under-reported" by comparison.......that's the first and foremost thing people need to remember when thinking about TODAY's typical sports team, that the MEDIA tend to blow almost every story totally out of proportion to its actual relevance and truth....the stories that allege the Patriots cheated clearly fall into this category of "Sensationalism".But it is WELL known by most people who followed football during the 1970s and well into the 1980s that SUBSTANCE ABUSE (especially Amphetamines, Painkillers and Muscle Relaxants) and use of Performance enhancing drugs (especially STEROIDS) were rampant ....... Today, this is considered a form of CHEATING (especially the steroids), and in today's NFL drug use and abuse is no longer tolerated.....players are suspended for even having SMALL amounts of Marijuana in their system!!!This is applicable to many of the teams were are talking about, especially The Steelers , the PAckers (of the 1960s Lombardi era), and the Dolphins! The Steelers of the 1970s were stocked with MANY future hall of famers, all time greats on both offense and defense....but it is NOW known that guys like JAck Lambert and JAck Ham, and ESPCIALLY center Mike Webster (the anchor for the offensive line the Steelers fielded all thru the 1970s) abused Steroids and other substances (dont believe me, look it up/research it....Mike Webster's case is especially tragic.)The Miami Dolphins (who played in COCAINE central....the Miami of the 1970s) are another example.....the Undefeated great Dolphin team of the 1972-1973 season was known to have numerous drug abusers (most famous is Mercury Morris who eventually wound up going to PRISON)......Another GREAT Dynasty of the 1970s into the early 1980s (and revived during the first half of the 1990s) were the DALLAS COWBOYS......anyone who has watched the movie or read the book NORTH DALLAS FORTY knows where I am going with this team! the so called "AMERICA's TEAM" was a hotbed of DRUGs and other shady behavior.......not to mention that during the 1970s, when COMPUTERS were a BRAND NEW thing, DALLAS was the first team to utilize and embrace COMPUTER analysis of players and teams, and when they sent scouts to watch opposing teams practice, and then UTILIZED much of this info into their co-called "Computerized" analyses, many people back then considered this "UNFAIR" (but they never went so far as to call this cheating.)SO clearly, we see that these other dynasties of the 1970s and 1980s were NOT squeaky clean......many of them (or at least their players) "cheated" in the form of drugs......it is just, as I said, there was not a 24/7 NEWS and SOCIAL MEDIA INDUSTRY in existence and people just never heard about all the dirty laundry and all the "bad side" that existed back then, not like they do today.......HECK, even the example I sighted of the 24/7 NFL network was not even a concept back then, so if you are going to criticize that, do it from that standpoint, not from a "Brian's song" standpoint.Having made that point, the Patriots' unequaled and outstanding success during the last 15 years has made them a target (much like the New York Yankees were HATED outside of NYC during the period 1930 thru 1964) because they DOMINATED the MAJOR LEAGUES, and people cannot stand it when one team becomes so dominant that it quashes their own local team.......and here's the point to remember......Babe Ruth was a KNOWN drunkard and womanizer, but during his heyday these stories were NOT reported in what media did exist at that time (mainly newspapers, with radio a distant second), it just was not done......in fact it took almost a full year before the INFAMOUS BLACK SOX scandal of 1919 to actual be fully exposed and the alleged cheaters brought to trial, because back then MEDIA was limited and followed rules of decorum.......during the 1950s and 60s, MICKEY MANTLE (a hero to a couple GENERATIONs of boys and baseball fans) was a notorious Drunken boozer, but it was hardly EVER even spoken of......if he played in today's environment with the internet, 24 hour news coverage and twitter, he'd never be allowed to behave like that.Much of the so called Patriots' cheating is just allegations (including the current, totally OVERBLOWN and irrelevant issue of DEFLATED BALLS).....the one area they were punished for, SPYGATE, was a CASE where they were singled out and made an example out of because the NFL had no choice,,,,,the story broke so fast and so far via the modern day news media blitz that the league had to do something........so the Patriots ADMITTED what they did, Belichick came clean and paid the fine.....end of story. BUT HERE ARE THE FACTS EVERYONE FORGETS: the custom of "spying" on opposing teams and filming or otherwise recording practices and actual games goes all the way back to the 1960s and early 1970s in the old NFL and AFL, when video cameras with VHS tapes were first made available......EVERYONE did it, much like stealing signs in Baseball was a common tactic during scouting trips going all the way back to Ty Cobb's era (and is why pitchers and catchers are so secretive and cover their mouths and such...) And in the case of SPYGATE, the Patriots were RATTED out by a disgruntled, jealous, spiteful EX-coach employee (Eric Mangini, who just so happened to be the coach of a team, the NY JETS, in the same division as the PAtriots, and who clearly gained a short term advantage by turning in his old team....) You ever wonder why Eric Mangini is hardly ever mentioned these days??? When he ratted out the PAtriots, not only did he break an unwritten rule and code of conduct by NOT revealing certain aspects of the team(s) you used to work for, but he HURT all the OTHER NFL teams that utilized this practice to prepare for opponents as they now could no longer "spy" anymore either.......the Patriots took the hit, but MANY NFL teams suffered as well!!!!! But, Oher than spygate, and other than the clearly SENSATIONALIZED, overblown coverage of these deflate footballs (which by the way, EVERYONE including and up to the actual losers in the game, the colts, freely admit had nothing to do with changing the actual outcome of the game), what else have the DYNASTIC Patriots of the 2001 to present day 2015 done to actual "cheat"??????
Seattle wins 21-17. Expecting both defenses to play big. This is just a wild guess. I have no idea what the over/under is.
It's raining here in metro Phoenix. Some local broadcasters are blaming Seahawks' fans for bringing the wet stuff. Quite frankly, we can always use the rain so I have no complaints.
Wow I did not know you lived in Phoenix OTABILL....so I take it you are a Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Suns & Coyotes, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Arizona Wildcats fan????If you are a Cardinals fan, maybe you can explain to the rest of us football fanatics exactly HOW it is that all four teams in your NFC west Division (Seattle, San Francisco, your Cardinals and last but not least, the RAMS) all are able to field such ridiculously GOOD and dominant DEFENSIVE units?!?!?!? How did that exactly happen in such coincidental fashion?!?!? Plus, it is my considered opinion that, IF carson Palmer does NOT go down with an injury, that the Arizona CArdinals, and NOT the Seattle Seahawks, would have won both the NFC west and the NFC title........Having said all that......and having forgotten if you already made a prediction......what are you predicting for the Super Bowl????

One final note and I hope this does not happen. If either team loses early in the game to injuries one or two of their superstar defense players, then Fla Phil's quote will definitely come into play....." Anything can and will happen. " and if the Pat's lose Gronk for some reason, forget it. I hope none of this happens of course and I hate to see serious injuries in any sport, but injuries if any in this game could just be the wild card the other team needs being that imo, they are pretty evenly matched. Let's hope for a great and fair game with no idiotic calls by the refs.

New England has been caught cheating. As for Babe Ruth; beinga drunkard and hung over was not against the rules. Spin it however you like but New England cheats.
