Yes crypto is my bread and butter now but it will drop 80-90% in 2025, maybe late spring. I am talking alt coins mostly. I will sell then and rebuy when they get cheap. The key is to sell on drops

The key is to sell on the big down turn and buy on the next run up but they will trade at the bottom for a long time before the next all time highs. Time to accumulate alts is while they are on the bottom. They are different than stocks

But, if today's price is the same as it was in 2013, does that not mean that it has, in fact, lost value?
No because dividend payouts are deducted from the share price. If you chart the ticker on a typical finance site, the line will trend flat. But I posted a "performance" chart which shows a better than 100% gain since inception because the chart adds the dividends back in.

Hopefully I understand that correctly.

It sounds like you have the recipe for riches.

I'm not seeking any of that. My parents grew up in the depression. They paid $59.99 for my first bicycle. We lived on a dead-end street, but the real estate people started calling it a cul de sac, and property values went up 10%.

Funny my first bicycle was 39 bucks. Both of my parents were in grammar school during the depression. I felt bad they bought me the bike since my mom was a homemaker and I knew my dad’s pay was 35 bucks a week. Less than my bike. I got a route delivering tv guides, mowed lawns, and did some baby sitting, as well as picked strawberries from a local farm to pay them back. When I got up to 40 bucks, and tried to pay for my bike they wouldn’t take it. We gave I think 5 bucks to the church, drove down to the local bank, opened up a savings account for me and the rest is history. ( we drove to the bank in dads well worn but cute 1948 Nash Club Coupe ). I remember they had to get a loan for 300 bucks to buy it in 1953. That’s funny about the cul de sac story. At this stage of the game, health is number one. If I can get a 7 percent or more dividend on a stock or fund, I’m thrilled. Lost a few bucks today, but just a few.

Portfolio crisis. I own some UnitedHealth Group stock. It plunged 10% this week after CEO’s assassination! The killer killed countless portfolios. Life without parole is too good for him.

Interest rate was cut another .5 here in Canada today. So looking for some high dividend bought some PFLT today at 11.02. High dividend at 11%. I don't expect any growth just looking to park some money at a good dividend. The ex dividend date is Dec 16 so should get dividend for this month. I also put a tight stop loss at 10.92 so if it does drop the dividend will put me back to even.
