I bought just a few shares of BRK-B today. I won’t nibble any more for now till some dust settles.
BRK-B only had a 2.3% loss at its worst level of the session. Some of the other declines were so egregious imo that I was compelled to buy vigorously -- particularly in oil services and deepwater drilling.

But today was somewhat of a targeted attack, as we didn't get a 2020-style indiscriminate liquidation. That could still happen tomorrow or Monday.
Minimal damage on my dividend Mortgage stocks for now.
My VNQI finished green! Internationals have been the Energizer Bunny this year.

Silver Linings: 1) I don't own Nike. Jesse Owens and Usain Bolt can't outrun this dumpster fire. 2) JNJ is still at its $160 perch. I'm about even there. 3) Nvidia is positioned to weather tariffs with "demand off the charts," per CNBC. 4) This is tragic. No use whistling past the graveyard.

Ahem.

30 minutes ahead of the employment report, US stocks are -3% premarket, but Europe is -4.

The dishonesty of our politicians is stunning. On the campaign trail, Republicans are all about cutting the burden of government. But once elected, they insta-flip to tyrant mode. We need bold action to create utopia! Oh no, we can't shut down the government!

Financial markets, although often delusional, are not outright suicidal. This week, the countries selling off have been the imposers of tariffs. Earlier I mentioned the US declining worse than internationals. But now China is stepping in, and as a result its stocks are taking the biggest losses this morning. I'm buying KWEB near 31.

Now it's a bloodbath. Barring a change of pace, this will be my biggest single-day loss ever. I've almost run out of settled cash in my primary account, and I had a lot of it a few days ago.

XES was -13% yesterday, now -12% today. Many such stories.

My trades are executing smoothly, which hasn't always been the case during market turmoil. It's particularly apt today that trades are called executions.

Your terms are acceptable. The best bargains develop during panics, and I love to bargain-hunt.

My only major vulnerability is the gold miners, which are finally selling off today from near record high levels. I can't envision a sustained gold miner crash under present circumstances. They're excluded from tariffs, and alternative assets such as gold should gain popularity as people observe the dysfunctional behavior of our politicians who control fiat currencies.

Today felt more panicky, without any survivors. Best performer on my watch list was only +3%: VNM. That was because of a Trump headline.

USA (VTI) -6%
internationals (VXUS) -6%

best US sector: real estate -3%
worst US sector: energy (again) -9%

I somehow managed 1/2 percent loss today. Some big dividends came in helping a bit. Jumped the gun and picked another few shares of Berkshire B. Foolishly, was too busy to think about picking up some SQQQ as a trade. Maybe Monday. I’m all set with gold for the moment. My basis is no more than 550 or so. Silver basis around 17. If this keeps up, Pension funds, Unions, and many others will be in financial difficulty. Like Mr Buffett, I won’t have to defend going to mostly cash months ago. I’m keeping my eye on AAPL, PRU, SQQQ, among others. Very Nerve Wracking

Occasionally I forget I'm on a degenerate gambling board, but then you guys crash me back to earth.

SQQQ is mentioned again without any context, as if it wasn't a disaster on every previous occasion.

Attention all SQQQ investors: please post your specifics. Post your purchase price when you buy it, and then your sale price when you sell it.
