new2vp, It looks like Im really getting to you although thats not my intention. Its like you cant say what you really want to so you make long drawn out posts, and plenty of them.  What im really seeing is I now think I understand what youre doing all this for, and its because of who you are afraid i am. Ive seen that nervousness in various older threads through here and its amazing.  We both have a mutual respect for Frank, am I right? So Im sorry to disappoint you, but I am not the person you think I am and Frank may be able to help on this. I am in the army, Army Intelligence support and not active duty because I live in a wheelchair. My 2011 assignment is Ft Huachuca/Marana/Phoenix Natl Guard/Flagstaff and my name is Rodney. I live in and my family is in the midwest, I get home a few days about once every 6 weeks and Frank sent me his autographed book. If he is kind enough to come on and verify that then you would probably like to eat some crow. Maybe Edwardo can get out that mirror you talked about and we could get a glimpse of your reflection, red face and all.   So sorry to disappoint you, but now at least I know why youve been so rude. Have a nice day.

I really don't have a clue what this is all about, but yes I can confirm that backsider is who he's saying he is, to the best of my knowledge. I clearly must have missed something. Could someone drop me an email and clue me in. Thanks. When I read New2vp's first post in this thread I thought it was humor, which is why I chimed in with my own brand of silliness. Certainly it was based on reality, but I took it as satire. I had no idea it was directed AT someone.I would like to add one more thing. I befriended Backsider because he genuinely taught me something useful that has helped me to better relate to non-professional VP players. I consider that very useful information and I wanted to show my appreciation. I didn't even expect him to read my book, I just wanted to return a favor.I have found in life that people who completely agree with me, also have little to teach me.~FK

Yup, looks awful familar. I'm sure Rodney is a real person, just like Joe was. Doesn't mean he types a post, now does it. All it takes is knowing the person's password.

Thanks shadowman,  Yes I recognized those words and others. As I stated in the 2nd post in this thread, there were several other standard deflection/reflection techniques that were not listed. Among them:2-1.  Accuse other posters of being afraid.2-2.  List qualifications rather than letting arguments stand on their words, a sort of reverse ad hominem fallacy.2-3.  Pretend that someone accused the reflection of being someone else.Nowhere did I ever say that backsider was more than a reflection as much as he would like to try to change reality.  backsider brought up the BS-master in earlier posts before any such observation of mine.I was just about to write a response to him, but will include it here instead, since most of my pertinent thoughts have already been stated:You have shared a lot about yourself...on this forum you have revealed much more than I have shared about myself in several years.  That is similar to some others; some others and you seem to think that your arguments need some backing up based on qualifications.  I believe arguments rest on their own merits but certainly you’re free to believe that some arguments’ words are not enough.  That doesn't mean I am accusing you of being anyone except who you say you are.The funny thing is I didn't just now pen these thoughts.  They were written 2 1/2 years ago.  As they say, "you can look it up."  No, I am not claiming to be a mentalist or a fortune teller.  The previous paragraph was simply part of my response to a previous reflection.  And who knows, I can probably use it again when this one tires of posting and the next one begins.

Maybe you should read Franks post above before spouting off. Do you understand what MAILED ME, RODNEY, A BOOK TO MY HOME means? To a state in the midwest? My goodness shadowman, is that your contribution for the day or is there more? Frank, your indulgence please, and thank you for verifying me. You probably havent much time to read through history here but Ive read some. It seems theres a handful of characters here who do not like RS so whenever someone gets under the skin of one of them they all jump in saying the person who is doin it must be him. Childish, yes, and they dont care if theyre wrong like here, they just keep it up from what Ive seen. Its the same m.o. and cast over on lva, Im sure youve seen it, only shadow is arcimedes. Its beyond me, but dont agree with me or else youll be the next victim!

Frank, I took no offense whatsoever to what you wrote.  Based on previous posts and your book, your writings have a particular verbal signature, 88% of which I enjoy very much, with more than 1/2 of the rest falling in the category of somewhat enjoyable.  90% of what I wrote early this morning was intended to be funny, at least to a few who frequent the forum, but I am not apologetic about the other 10%.I was certain that your post was at least 95% intended to amuse, which is why I responded the way that I did, and I apologize for the underestimation if the actual proportion was 100%.And certainly, you earned the Scarecrow award.  Don't let anyone wrest that away. You are too positive a guy and the story is too long to update you fully.  But you are also very bright, so I'm guessing that you might be able to get at least part of the message from my response below. When I read New2vp's first post in this thread I thought it was humor, which is why I chimed in with my own brand of silliness. Certainly it was based on reality, but I took it as satire. I had no idea it was directed AT someone. <emphasis added> ~FKExactly.  How would anyone know that this was directed AT someone (or, more accurately, a set of someones) unless one knew the history of reflections on this forum?  Yet backsider took offense to them...and he just joined the forum a few months ago after Frank did.Frank, I don't expect you to understand.  Certainly, I don't expect you to referee this nor am I attempting to recruit you to either my side or the other side of any discussion.  I included a response to you both (1) because it would have been rude not to, since I responded to all the other posters, and (2) because your post was very humorous and I thought I could selfishly play off that humor to add some of my own.I hope you stay on good terms with backsider because I sense that is what you want to do.  The only thing that I really expect from you, probably on other threads, is for you to continue to inform, entertain, or, what you normally do, both of the above. You do not have to feel sorry that shadowman, anyone else, or I are picking on backsider.  He is getting what he wants in the short term.  Reflections actually want you to respond so they can mischaracterize your statements, play the victim, and bait you into further discussion (See earlier discussion of techniques):  classical juvenile attention-seeking behavior, even if the attention is bad.I know that I should limit my engagement in such debates as well.  With appropriate apologies to pigs for the comparison, "You shouldn't fight with reflections!  You both get dirty...and the reflection likes it!"Frank, have a great one!  <sigh>  No, bs, in case you are intent on making the same mistake, this is NOT in any way an accusation that you are the BS-master.  And I don't care what your zodiac sign, health insurance company, favorite hobby, hair color or address is; whatever they are, I probably won't be dropping you a postcard anytime soon.  Hope you have a great day, too, however you choose to spend it.

"you went out well beyond the call of duty in coming up with the FranknBob 8-machine progressive idea" I played these up at the M.  First one bank of quarters and one dollar bank, then two banks of quarters.  Yesterday - POOF, gone.   Were they moved or removed? Thanks, Frank, for suggesting that play to the resort.  Those were fun while they lasted.   What's wrong with the color purple?
