Re: Math Problem
Ok, here's the solution.
Fill the 5 quart pail ... pour from it to the 3 quart pail leaving 2 quarts ... empty the 3 quart pail and pour the 2 quarts into it from the 5 quart pail ... fill the 5 quart pail and pour from it into the 3 quart pail until it is full ... you now have 4 quarts.
We have a winner.

One more. Divide 100 into 4 parts so that , if one of the parts is increased by 4, one diminished by4, one multiplied by 4, and one divided by 4, the result in every case will be the same.

12 ... 20 ... 4 ... 64
The answer in all cases is 16.

You are in a room with 3 switches. In the next room over (which you cant see) are 3 light bulbs. All the light bulbs are OFF to start with. Nobody else is allowed to help you and you can only walk into the next room one time. How can you find out which switch controls each of the light bulbs?

Turn two of the switches on. Wait about 10-15 minutes. Turn off one switch. The bulb that is lit matches up to the switch you left on. The bulb that is warm matches the switch you turned off. The bulb that is cold is controlled by the switch you never touched..

SM scores again. Since there hasn't been an out pouring for math problems and other problems that I know require to much tying for the explanation. I will cease them for the moment.
