Re: airline tickets
glad to hear i am not crazy, it is very loud. what i do not understand is, do they not see who their customers are? seneca, like many casinos, is full of 50-80 year olds.

Exactly! (I'm a lot closer to the 80 than the 50).

Southwest advertises great fares - however whenever I want to fly the prices are high - I guess because there are no non-stop flights from my favorite cities. Tried separating the trip but that didn't help. I will keep flying - no matter what. I could be run over by a bus just as easily!

Did you check out web only rates? They are the best for Southwest.

And ideal time frame is 21 days to 28 days for booking to get the lowest fares, although sometimes it works if you book it 6 weeks or more.....anything more than 4-6 weeks and usually it is guaranteed to drop during the 21-28 day window.....avoid booking less than 21 days, with one exception: For certain routes & flights and at certain times of the year, it can pay off to try and capture a last minute booking whereby you book the flight with a 3-5 day window, and becaise southwest is either having trouble filling the plane, or if there has been a few cancellations, you can get a surprisingly low fare. But its a crapshoot and requires VIGILANCE checking the website.

I booked Las Vegas August 20 thru August 24 through Southwest and got $238.00 round trip from Chicago Midway. I checked prices minutes ago and right now that same flight plan is $133.00 more, at $371.00. I doubt the fares will drop to what I paid; I doubt they drop to even anything close. Right now the $133.00 price difference pays for my rental car during my stay. As OTABILL said, check out Southwest's web only fares.

That's a great rate doris. Maybe if you 21-28 days before your trip it will be even lower then?

It depends. The best SWA fare we got from STL was only about 10 days from our trip. Typically though, somewhere between 4 to 8 weeks is the sweet spot for most of the airlines/classes we fly.
Given the fare you found though...I also doubt it would go lower. That's a great deal for first class! $800/rt from Newark right?
