Re: MARKETS,Anybody even yet?
Also, sometimes I don’t mind if a big dividend stock goes down somewhat. I just sell it to offset gains and then some and I will buy it back. If I think it’s still good after 30 days it’s just one big juggling act. Nobody can time it to the minute, but it’s nice to try. Offsetting gains is a big deal to me especially on short term because my last dollars in are at the 22% tax rate in the damn state is there grabbing another 7% off of adjusted gross income usually I’m able to offset much if not all of what I made in trades during the year And unless it’s a real loser, I almost by always buy it back cheap after 30 days to avoid the wash sale rules. My favorite stock to do that with is BGS and pick up the 18 percent dividends at the same time. It even works to offset other gains. For instance a gain on a piece of land. Excess losses in the market instead of having to carry forward can offset the gain on the land in full. Then if it’s a good stock, just buy it back after a month. Worked great last year with DIS except that’s one stock I won’t buy back. Destroyed the company with Woke stuff. Like an idiot though, I waited way too long to dump it. Rode it all the way down from 180 to 111 hoping against hope. Of course the girls in the family wanted to keep it. UGH !!!

Might as well give me another knuckle sandwich while you are at it. I bought PLTR in the low 20s. Took a quick 200 bucks and ran. Duh!!!!
