How much golf did Trump played in January, February, March, April, May...
Obama declared the H1N1 virus in the morning. Then went and played golf that afternoon.

Notes, I am retired since I sold my business over a decade ago. Financially the Trump virus has had no impact on us other than watching our monies we have in the stock and bond market experience volatility. Most of our monies are in cd's and fixed annuities. I am about as conservative as it gets in terms of managing my money. My wife and I are in our early 60's so still no ss income coming in. I think we are going to wait until at least our mid 60's so the ss monthly check will be larger.
Since overloading my ass with credit card debt in my early 20's during my college days I decided that once I dug out of that financial hole I did not want to be in that situation again. At 29 I married the most beautiful woman in the world, in more ways than one, in fact today is her birthday, we have worked together towards financial security for the past 32 years. One of our secrets was living within our means. Don't buy it unless you can pay for it. We have always paid cash for our vehicles, places to live, or other major purchases. We are about as conservative as it gets.
That's why it pains me to see our country led by both democrats and republicans and imposters like Donald J. Trump burning money like drunken sailors and taking our country further and further into debt. It is sad but that is what has been happening and I do not see any end in sight. At some point bankruptcy and/or civil war. Unless enough people can learn to live within their means.

Obama played golf the same day one of our journalists was beheaded in the Middle East. Nothing could top that

BR, dying at rates higher than NY? As Lee Corso would say, "not so fast my friend" NY had over 800 people dying a day at the height of the crisis.billryan wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 2:30 pmSo I'm going to conclude Notes has no plan, only sniping at mistakes in the past while his own neighborhood burns and crashes. Why , to use his own words, is his Governor executing old folks in Florida, and why isn't notes upset about it? Old folks in Florida today are dying at rates far higher than they did at the worse of NYs crisis, but not a peek out of him?

Seniors in nursing homes represent more than half the deaths in Florida this month. Deaths in nursing homes were not 50% of the deaths in NY for any one month. If Cuomo was executing seniors in nursing homes, what does that say about Desantis?
NY took steps and slowed the spread and now has a handle on it, at least for now.
Florida is doing little and its problem is growing. Record deaths, record hospitalizations and now the Governor wants to reopen bars and schools. 10,000 plus new cases every day. 150+ deaths.
Stay at home orders, and mandatory masks have stopped the spread in NY. This isn't unknown territory.
We should have a national policy, not 50 different ones. Trump ,rightfully, said we are at war. then he declined to lead it. Pence is in charge of the CV taskforce. When did he last speak to the American people?

SMR, you may be surprised how similar our bios are. about 5 years older, married to same gal for 43 years, retired, was financial advisor for more than 3 decades and told every client, 'live on less than you earn'. our investment allocation now is 65% fixed annuities, 22% bond funds and 13% stock funds. house paid (since age 50),cars paid, owe nothing to no body. since the pandemic, we have more money than before and spend less. financially, we are better off than before.
i too, am a fiscal conservative. i have commented before that one of my biggest displeasures with trump, was his comfort with debt and not reigning in government spending.
among your most often stated complaints is trump's handling of the chinese virus. i have heard other seniors all suggest that the country should just stay in lock down. you sold your business and the proceeds allowed you to retire. what about all the folks still working, who built/trying to build a business and one day, were told to close shop. suddenly, all income is lost, their dreams/futures disappearing, and they did nothing wrong. they see liquor stores able to stay open, 'weed' shops open, grocery stores open, but their business is closed.
china caused this, not trump. there is no playbook to go from, not happened in our lifetimes. mistakes will take place. but, the decisions are difficult and we cannot let our country die economically.

It means DeSantis isn't as efficient as Cuomo in "executing seniors". I was wrong about 800 deaths in NYS at the height of the crisis there. It was over 1,000. Tried to err on the safe side. Fact as of today. Florida's death rate from Covid is 273 per million residents. NYS and NJ are 1,700 per million residents. DeSantis is going to have to do a lot more to catch upi to Cuomo.billryan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 8:25 amSeniors in nursing homes represent more than half the deaths in Florida this month. NYs problems are hopefully over. Floridas are just kicking in. 50,000 new infections this week, and no stay at home order. Open those bars up. If not now, then when?

Notes was a financial advisor? Now that I find funny. Laugh my ass off funny. Was that before they invented mutual funds?

Seems like you are hoping for more Floridians to die. I hope that's not the case. They will never catch up to NY and NJ as far as the death rate is concerned. BTW, there was a Liberian independence day celebration at a rented mansion in Jackson NJ over the weekend. 700 people no masks.
