Re: I love America
Tampa Bay Times? Really? I thought you lived in Minnesota or Wisconsin? Seriously enough already. I'm not a bad guy. Grew up in the housing projects in Queens NY. Have a little edge to me. But promise you edog that if you, ever get to AC and that goes for Tedlark and Da Burglar too, I will spring for dinner at Old Homestead. Coupla Grey Goose Martinis, crabmeat cocktail, Filet Mignon, creamed spinach. I promise.
Just took the wife to Old Homestead, total bill for meal $529, 1 Hennessy Paradis cognac at $100 kind of drove up the price.
Is it against any law to accept these contributions?
I just couldn't overlook this comment. While she most certainly isn't the only one taking advantage of this horrible system shouldn't the question be "why isn't it against the law to accept these type of contributions ?"
it is against the law. she is not taking the monies directly, they are sending monies to bill's foundation. it has also been reported that a number of usa companies, including GE and BOEING made contributions to bill's foundation, after she, as SOS, helped arange deals for those companies. likely happens with both parties, but the big fuss, and the left is also outraged, is taking monies from foreign governments.

We can debate politics until we are either all red or blue in the face and I do not think we are going to get anywhere. We are all entitled to our opinions. This is a video poker forum, and I for one am done talking politics.
I agree with one caveat, yhe only exception being when political decisions relate to casinos and related areas e.g. on-line gambling.

My answer would be because making such contributions illegal would make it more difficult for the 1% to purchase politicians and judges, and that might just mean they would have to put up with controlling somewhat less than half the nation's wealth, an intolerable prospect for them and hence an impossible political dream for us.

If it's against the law, take her to court for it. I find that the amount of political heat generated over a supposed illegal action is in inverse proportion to its actual illegality.

general pretreaus cut a deal with the goverment today for doing something that others have gone to prison for. hillary, against government laws, used her own personal email while SOS, instead of state dept email. this is the kind of stuff that bothers people. the political elites think they are better than us and do not need to follow thw law.

DaBurglar I, like everyone here with some smarts and common sense, run circles around you. It's really no effort for me at all. You got the part about "running in circles" correct.......and people complain of dizziness after reading your absurd BS. Now we know why......No one sets themself up quite as well as you do Ted

The thing about being a member of the political and/or economic elite is that you, and your friends, get to say what the laws are and enact written or unwritten exceptions to them as needed. The law is only for those who have no powerful friends.
