Spam

I just discovered my February Videopoker.com newsletter in my spam file. I never directed my server to do that. Sometimes I will check out spam and delete the file. Someone recently mentioned not receiving the monthly newsletters and perhaps this is what happened in their situation, as well.
When I delete that spam file, am I signaling the senders that they had indeed reached an active email address? I do not wish to encourage them to send more spam. I believe that spam file will disappear after so many days, so perhaps I am better off allowing that to transpire, naturally??

Deleting genuine spam shouldn't have an adverse effect. Opening it and clicking links... yes.However, often times good mail will arrive in your spam folder, based on words within the content.Obviously you subscribe to the newsletter and want to receive it, so you want to ensure that it doesn't go into your SPAM folder in the future. Most mail programs have the ability to mark an item as "not spam" which will help it not go into your spam folder in the future. You can also usually add a sender to a "safe sender" or "whitelist" list and I would suggest doing so for the newsletter.
