Roof blows off Hollywood Casino
In Maryland Heights (St Louis). I was coming back east from KC, so I called their number. Nothing but busy signals, phone's probably down. No word on injuries, yet.

Yikes. They reopened today at noon, so they didn't get hit too badly. Fortunately my parents' house didn't get hit. I am in Chicago right now visiting my g/f's parents, so I missed all that mess.

Yeah, I stopped at the Pilot Travel Center at Boonville to wait out the weather. One of the patrons said he heard a loud boom. May have been a lightning strike that caused the damage.

We just stayed at Hollywood last night and it is clearly visable where the tornado went through. Burger King missed it by a hair, and the car valet at Hollywood said it came right through the parking lot, pretty much taking out all the light poles. I didn't see any damage to the hotel, but everyone I talked to said they could see it was a funnel cloud. I don't think I would be standing there watching it.

I stayed there on Wednesday too. Did you see a guy in a red "Perry the Platypus" shirt drinking Budweisers while mostly playing 35/8/5 Bonus Poker or a little bit of Double Super Times Pay? If so, that was me! lol
And yeah tons of trees taken out near "the dump". Hollywood mostly dodged a bullet for sure, they wouldn't want to waste more time and money to significantly redo their renovations. The "Sunset Bar" is now starting to be worked on, the bartender at their small temp bar told me it would take 2 months to complete that part!

I was there Friday morning. Sure was noisy with all the construction going on.
I noticed those 3 banks of 99% plus video poker machines was gone.
I walked up to a bank of Ultimate X machines with one guy sitting on the end. This lady passed me with a big smile, and apparently said something, but I had turned off my hearing aid to muffle the noise. I sat at the other end. She came back and leaned into my ear, "Can you help a lady in distress" she asked. The guy at the other end was looking at me shaking his head, "no". I wasn't falling for that scam anyway! She said she needed $20 for gas to go home. I just turned to the machine, looking for that 800 number to give to her, and shook my head, "no".

The big misstep Hollywood has made (the list of the wrongs is just amazing to me) is the breakfast buffet, that they have taken out. There was not 1 person having their alacarte $9 plate of eggs, and I cannot figure out how people can so guess wrong on what people want and don't want. The maze of construction just to get in was like walking in never-never land to get to a casino floor that has no rhythm or flow. I stay there because I fly out of the airport and you can leave your car for as long as you want for free, but they still have so much remodeling to do. They might want to fix the carpets in the hallways going to your room, as it has become a field of land mines to manuever without falling flat on your face. (By the way v-man, did you put on your Platypus shirt befor or after the budweisers? Somehow, I missed you)

Gone? I just played 99.66% Bonus Poker there just 2 days earlier to your visit. They have all moved in recent months thanks to construction, but they hopefully should still be there. Or just temporarily removed at the very least. If they were going to permanently remove them, I would figure they would have removed them already.

There were a lot of machines shut down and, or, in the process of being moved. So, hopefully they just moved them somewhere. I was there at 6am to 8am Friday morning.
There was an area near the video poker area where all the machines were black. The bank in the no smoking section was gone or black.
