Haven't watched an NFL game since the BS with the Pledge or Anthem and won't ever again. If I'm up at Mohegan tonight, which I probably will be, I may grab a dog or some boneless honey barbeque wings as I walk by the big screens, wrap the paper into a tight ball and hope for a 3 pointer into the trash can. If I miss, I will just do a knee check and pick up the trash accordingly and drop it in. Guess I will have to bring my ear plugs with me too. Probably just hit the room early and settle in with a few shows on the velocity channel. Edited to add, I wish the NFL had tossed the overpaid trash like I will tonight with my wrappers.

Pledge BS soured me until the post season. Then, I relapsed. The numbers will be relatively abysmal for this SB. Do bring earplugs as Logan is a scant hundred miles away and not even the planes arriving and departing could drown out the rabid fans.
Might as well predict. Patriots, 38-31. Were I in LV, I'd take NE and the points, ignoring volatile and capricious over/under wagering.

I haven't watched a game since then as well. However, my wife was originally from Philly, likes the commercials and Justin Timberlake so it will be on the TV. Since not one Eagle took a knee during the Anthem this year, it's ok with me.

I would have lost $100. Another good reason not to reside in LV. DB must be reeling.

Obnoxious Fan Base Bowl tomorrow. A pox on both houses. I will simply eat enough that I will fall asleep immediately upon its conclusion. The rest of the country is largely beyond apathetic.
I'll grant you one thing, both cities do have obnoxious fans....but I myself do not live in Boston, it's over 90minutes away from me. Not all pats fans, and not all eagles fans are in the same boat. New York fans and Chicago fans, of all the sports teams in all sports, are also pretty obnoxious. Those four cities and it's citizens, Boston, NY, Philly, and Chicago are very similar in all the worst ways despite also being unique in many other ways.

They both lost. NE lost the SB and the Eagles just lost their OC to the Colts, who made him HC. You cannot make it up.

I've been to dozens of Victory celebrations for NY teams. Never had a worry about my safety nor has a riot broken out at one. After the 98 Yankees parade, the crowd was ankle deep in confetti when some yahoo tried setting some of it on fire. Half a dozen people stopped him and held him for the cops. NY Jet fans tend to be younger and rowdier. If they ever win a Championship, I might anticipate trouble but so far that hasn't happened.

I believe the New York Jets have won a championship; Super Bowl III. No reports of troublesome celebrants.

If they ever win a Championship, I might anticipate trouble but so far that hasn't happened. The Jets didn't need any obnoxious young rowdy hoodlums in their "fan base" back in 68-69 when they won Stupor Bowl Three against the dominant, clearly superior and heavily favored Baltimore Colts (Johnny Unitas, a young up-n-coming head coach named Don Shula and several other hall of famers made that team one of the greatest super bowl LOSERS of all time)....The reason I say they didn't need these young troublemakers is they were lead on their improbable victory by one of the most OVERRATED, insipid, obnoxious NFL personalities of all time, Joe "Sobriety is just Not in My playbook" Namath. The guy was so boozed up he could sanitize anything by simply breathing on it.......Billy, have you seen the ESPN Special Presentation "The Bronx is Burning"??? It's about the summer of 1977, when the Yankees were rolling to their first world championship in 15 years and the first one under King George (Steinbrenner)....that summer was one of the hottest on record, you had the SON of SAM running around perpetrating his litany of evil horrendous deeds, and you had Reggie Jackson, Billy Martin, Thurman Munson, Sparky Lyle, Graig Nettles et al playing and acting like three ring circus all season long. it was more than the equivalent of an actual riot.....
