Eduardo what you are saying is that you believe shadowman and think Fa La La La La.... La la la la is a slobering fool.
Did I get that correct?
Most people will agree with that even that CD dude.

As someone who's been known to go over the top now and again when the subject of our fave expert comes up (), and as a member in good standing of the Dinger Club, I'd suggest that it might be time for you and I to take a more modern, PC approach to how we post on the subject.   Like the way SM, Eduardo, rascal, da Cat, and some of the other posters do.  It's a good time of year for New Year's resolutions, anyway.

Before posting, assume the lotus position and say a few "Ommm"s.  Maybe even put that Yahni (?) album on.   Ommm.  Send regular checks to Greenpeace.  Give up the fried chicken, and go vegan.  Ommm.  Cancel the subscription to "Guns & Ammo".   Save a few dolphins by switching from bleached to unbleached coffee filters.   Ommm.   I was going to suggest learning to love your neighbor, but that probably wouldn't be good advice given your current address.   Ditto for learning to turn the other cheek.

Seems to me that I said something similar at the end of last year, but it obviously didn't take in my case.

This is only because you were shorted at the green and beige. I'm quite positive that if you had garnered a couple more W2g's, your attitude would be different as it would most here on the forum. OEJ will be happy to get some grits for Christmas. Not everyone can hit 4 RF's in a day so we need to be obedient to master Shadow.

I believe Shadowman because I have good reason to.

I agree with a lot of what Fa La La La La.... La la la la has to say, in that I am a short-term player who, at least for the time being, will not realize the long-term expected returns on a machine.

I believe that there are betting strategies that can increase your chances of reaching a certain session goal more readily than always playing the "best hand" at a single denomination. But I also am not blind to the fact that such strategies that give you a greater number of winning sessions based on imperfect play carry with them far greater risk of loss, so when you do lose, you lose big, and likely lose in the long run. And if a player were to employ these strategies repeatedly, or a large number of players were to employ them, the casino would take home a lot more cash than the players together.

In other words... you are increasing your gamble in order to obtain winnings that if you have the patience to play consistently could be obtained with much less risk. And eventually this strategy could lead you to lose all of your winnings quite easily with the wrong run of cards.

It's very possible that Fa La La La La.... La la la la has won a very high percentage of his sessions. You could do that simply by using a progressive betting system. But where he goes very, very wrong is in putting this forward as a way to actually come out further ahead than the "math geeks" on a seemingly guaranteed basis. The truth is, many players could win with a progressive system, but you simply cannot ignore the ones that lose everything while expecting the stars, even if they employed the "better" strategy with perfection.

That's the surface level of it all, and I only have mild disagreements with him on that matter. But then you get into the details of it all... pattern detection, hot and cold, "special" plays... notice he only mentions his special plays when he hits them but never bothers people with the odds of actually doing so. He talks as if his winning hands come every time without explaining the actual odds of hitting while holding that "special" play vs. the mathematical hold. It's a simple question to answer... if I hold these cards, what are my odds of actually hitting it, and if everyone did that, what would the player take be vs. the casino take? And to claim that he has somehow "outsmarted" the machines and is beating the casino at their own game through his "amazing" methods it just hogwash. People are not fooling themselves by playing the game properly. If you want to take more risks that's fine. But don't claim it's something "smarter" or criticize those who clearly have a good grasp on the game and the odds associated with it.

In the end, it's all a bunch of empty hype that preys on the typical emotions that players experience. If he actually spelled his strategies out properly, it would not be hard to plug them into a program and see how they perform. You would win more frequently, but the casinos would LOVE you for it because in the end, the players would be giving back much more than the long-term strategy allows.

I also have not met Mr Fa La La La La.... La la la la so I can't comment on the slobber. I don't take him for a fool... that title is reserved for those who believe the hype.

And this is the last I will say about that deceiving attention whore because he is not worthy of the discussion and gets off on these things. It's too bad he is unable to have a coherent discussion because it would have been interesting to talk to him about these things. But he's proven himself unworthy of that time and time again. He is full of bitterness and possibly delusion. He appears drunk in his videos and I can't believe he posts them believing they could add any sort of credibility. I think traffic to his site is 98% those with morbid curiosity (like me) and 2% dreamers.

Just the same, I wish him a Merry Christmas and also a happy new year for him and his family.

Bravo Eduardo! Very well stated. No one can argue with proven results. Theories and hunches are a dime a dozen. Many of us paduan players have much to learn yet have gained much knowledge through VP trainers and the members of this site. I've visited that site too from urging by some members here to see for myself, the psycho babble that gets posted there. Unreal! OEJ, i hope you get those cheese and bacon grits buddy.

For that very reason you won't ever see a set of Fa La La La La.... La la la la strategy cards; a system that covers all the bases and that can be modeled either on a purely mathematical basis or by PC simulations.

One of the many things that set Rob off during his legitimate visit here was any mention of long-term play.   I take that as a tacit admission from him that his approach (NOT system!) is not a long-term moneymaker; success being determined by net $'s from all sessions played.  It doesn't take much losing play to offset a nice run of winning sessions.  Anyone who's played on the Gold part of the site with its daily/weekly/monthly scoring knows that it's possible to win most days (a high winning %) and still finish a month in the red.  As far as my real play goes, if I were to delete only 10% of my sessions every year from my records you'd see me writing VP books!    Last year I finished slightly in the hole; take out the bottom 10% of my sessions and I finish up about $10K.  My point with this is that it doesn't take much chicanery in record-keeping to make the bottom line look a whole lot better.  From a psychology standpoint I'm a player who believes in not letting previous results (good or bad) influence my play when I walk into a casino.  I'd love to find a bank that would give me back the dollars lost in that bottom 10%.

Rob's had a lot to say about RNGs and patterns, but I don't follow him enough to know if he's ever said anything about RNGs running continuously.  The machines in casinos are like PCs in that older ones run slower than newer ones, and there are many different software versions as well.  So even if it were possible to discern patterns on one machine that info wouldn't carry over to any machines other than those of the same age and running the same software version.  It doesn't make sense to me to crow on the Internet about being able to beat the machines anyway.  If I was a game manufacturer and had the slightest suspicion that my machines were being systematically beaten and I was unable to find a problem through internal testing, I'd simply bankroll a few employees and send them incognito for personal training.  They'd glean the secrets, report back, and the game software could be recoded.  Problem solved.  The regs for state casinos have much to say on the subject of what goes into machines, but you won't see anything about how often updates can be made.  And a confirmed problem with an RNG would be taken care of PDQ.

One of the recent rants belittled those who take advantage of multiple times points days which many locals do. It made a mockery of taking advantage of those days when reality is, you would play anyways, why not get more back? How would one come out losing even if the session(s) weren't on the positive side, and get more player points back? Apparently he doesn't use a card or simply hates those who do take advantage of the offers.

Possibly it makes him feel like a slave to a casino, adjusting his visits based on a casino's actions.   It takes a true blizzard or something for me to miss a bonus points day or to blow off using a cash coupon.
