Re: class II or class III?
Sorry to say this Tomcat or Billyjoe, but the absence of the genie does not imply that you played all the hands correctly, though I'm certain in both of your cases that you didn't make any mistakes. The genie does not need to appear on misplayed hands if some other combination of cards can get you to the predetermined outcome. If you toss trips when a full house is coming, you can still get a different full house with different cards WITHOUT the genie.

I only recall seeing the class II machines in Ca at some of the indian casinos many years ago with the bingo card displayed in the upper corner so I knew they weren't the same as the vegas style games. Now they're all class III.

Some class II look and act almost like class III, ask a manager what the casino is a II or III just to be sure. Then head for those hills if it is II.

Thanks for the clarification, new2. That makes sense. It still surprised me not to see a genie once in over two full hours of play. I did see one pop up in a deuces wild game next to me; the genie gave her a wild royal.

At Empire they have a card at the top right of the machine and if it matches one of the cards after the draw you win something.I dont think its only for a "missplayed" hand because Ive gotten say a pair of Js and drew 1 jack and still got a match with an additional win.

It might not be only for misplayed hands, but I can imagine that if you had a hand dealt like J of clubs with a J642 of diamonds, and held 2 jacks, the machine might have wanted you to hold the 4 flush instead so that you could get a flush on the draw. With a hold of 2 jacks, the machine wouldn't be able to pay you for the flush that it was planning to without some extra "magic." (Or maybe it wanted to pay you for a straight? In such a case, it would have to use the same concept.)

Boops, The match feature is only on some of the video poker machines, mostly the higher limit ones. The genies appear on the bank of Game Kings near the Food Court.

Ive seen the genie on the multi line games, but never on the .25 single line games. Maybe I just never played those with the genie. We only go maybe once a year soooo....
