I'm dealt 4 to royal very frequently without hitting the royal... I've been dealt 4 to RF on 10-play $5 over 500 times without getting a royal... including once 3 times in a row, with no luck at all... in fact, in those 5000 hands, results were only a handful of flushes or straights (much less royal)...

Welcome to the forum juan. I am not a big fan of multi hand poker. I play single hand most all the time. My wife and I will put money together at times and try 3 to 5 hand STP but have had no good hits on any of the games we have tried. Royals are hard to hit no matter how often you see 4 dealt.

Hi all, It's my first time posting. I love math and probability so this thread is right up my alley. I have been playing video poker for a little over 10 years. My first royal was on Sept 1 2004 and the last royal I had was number 241. I have had the most (103) by drawing 2 to the royal followed by 79 drawing one to the royal. I estimate I have played about 8 million hands, but have only been dealt a royal twice. I think that is just terrible luck-and I don't even believe there is such a thing as bad luck or good luck. I'm sure I am not alone out there though.

I've been playing the contests on this site since September of 2011 and was dealt Four to a Royal Flush in August's monthly contest: I completed the Royal for the first time ever while playing a single line game. The bad news is my internet connection was down for the first three days of the month and I was way out of the running.

This wise man does not understand, as Lucky Larry expressed in a different thread, the concept of timing and luck.

While the math rules in the long run, in the short run, it's all good fortune. Giving yourself an opportunity to win is the key.

My husband and I go to the casino about once a week. We play double double and get 4 cards to the Royal a lot....sometimes the next card is there...we hit the progressive jackpot fairly often...in fact, I hit one with 4 cards dealt and he was sitting 2 chairs down from me and hit the Royal before they got back to pay me.
