I agree Boops, they should not have been allowed to block you from playing those unoccupied machines the way they did. I might very well have yanked their card out of the machine I wanted to play and then sit down. Let them get inconvenienced and have a casino manager come over and sort out the mess. It's pretty much a given that there might be other players who would come to your aid as I'm sure you weren't the only one wishing they had the opportunity to play those machines.

I ran into a capped machine once in Joliet and I pestered the slot host to hold firm to her promise to me that they had a one hour policy for capped machines. Needless to say, I got to play the machine a little while later.

Thanks for all the good advice! Hopefully I wont have to use any of it! The funny thing is I saw a post no anpther forum also describing these same people. It seems that they also continually fight with the floor people so I cant see this going on that much longer even if they are big players.

I am with Tedlark in that if someone's card is in an unoccupied machine I simply remove it and start playing. If someone nearby objects by saying, "Hey, I'm playing that machine," or, "Hey, I'm holding that machine," I say, "No you aren't," and keep on playing. Remember: No one can take advantage of you without your permission......never forget!

Now, if the machine is capped by a floor person and it can't be played, that's another matter, but there are so many casinos to choose from here that most casinos realize that we can easily walk --- and do easily walk. (Remember, from the other thread: I get offended real easily.... )

What I love is when stragglers just sit at a machine all day with their card in waiting for those 1 hour $100 free play drawings.  I have seen this at my local casino.  They will sit their for 4-6 hours drinking free cokes during drawing time and nto put a nickle in the machine in hopes their name will be called for $100 free play or whatever the current promotion may be.

We did go to Showboat but we couldnt find an area with a lot od $1 video slots. We found them in a section but there was only around 5 or 6 different games-if anyone knows Showboat, do you know if theres another area for high limit video slots?

With regard to the 'card only players' that you encountered, Boops, I would say this. What would you do if you walked up to an empty machine, and some guy was just standing in front of it, and told you that you couldn't play it? You would probably just call the floor person over, and run his butt out. I would handle those card-only hogs the same way.

I think a machine should only be held with an attendant standing there guarding your credits for a quick bathroom break.  If there is a card in an unattended machine and you know the circumstances you should charge the offender with unjustly trying to earn points off of the next person who played.

The floor people were kissing their butts-they seemed afraid of them-the rumor is that they have 600,000 tier points! They are also nasty to the floor proplr. I had a woman check into it but I didnt wait around to find out-I was DONE.
