Re: Everything Happens for a Reason
IHEARDTHATTED! Ted is referring to a few years back when I entered MGM Detroit only to be told I was 86ed and had to leave. TOO WEIRD! When a supervisor I requested finally arrived, he claimed it was a case of mistaken identity. (?!) Thanks to peeps on this site for encouraging me, I phoned security later to complain. My husband, son and I enjoyed a feast at Wolfgang Puck that their head of security decided I had EARNED for the insult. OK, I had been driving a tad erratically in an almost empty parking lot and smuggled in a bottle of water and a yogurt. I had been swimming without breakfast and it was too early for their restaurants to open. I assumed that had been caught on camera but apparently that had nothing to do with that 86 charge. 'Just trying to help others when they find themselves in this 86 situation by relating this story a few times! Hubby still thinks that dinner was a b'day or Valentine's day promo and let's not clue him in otherwise, K! TY!Welcome to Greektown, Tony! WTG! YOU found my fave/lucky machine, but let's just keep that to ourselves! When heading to Windsor Caesar's, I started to play that same machine and was dealt aces on TDB five play. THREE turned into AWAKS for $3400. Of course, that has not happened since! We only stopped there to use up a gift card to FISHBONES across the street. "You never know why things happen the way they do" backattcha!Recently, I put my card in that same machine and a guy came into the room and said he was playing that machine. "No you weren't!" "That's my card!" he said. "No it's not, it's my card!" I said. yada yada. He had been playing that machine for an hour and a half and wanted me to let him know when I was leaving. Watch out for him! I do not believe he is the violent type but casinos can bring out the worst in peeps!

Congratulations! It's wonderful to hear about winning - especially in such a short period of time. And to walk out with money - that's fantastic. We all hear the odds of winning the lottery - millions to one chance, but people still play. A friend has the opinion that she has a 50/50 chance at the lottery - either she wins or she doesn't. I like that opinion. Wishing everyone a winning trip - let's go cash out!

Tonight, I am feeling depressed, so why not try to overcome my depression with a post on this forum. Tomorrow, I turn 65, one year older than my current age of 64. One of the problems with that last sentence is that I just made some mathematical statement. Can you imagine my outrage over being told by one of the math experts that since I am not a math expert, that I can not speak about math? People that are that sensitive, that arrogant, and that much in need to prove their math expertise should be barred from this forum in my opinion.Hold that thought. I just made a non math statement. Now I ask the math experts to not respond to this statement, as their only area of expertise is math. Thank you for listening.I do not necessary agree with backsider’s conclusion, but I certainly agree with his gut instinct that some players are so math inclined that they have become too sensitive towards comments made about math. Or that they see life in terms of math. The way that I see life is this. If you use a bucket as an analogy to the brain, and you fill the bucket with math, science, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, and so forth, it eventually becomes full. And if no topic in the bucket contains more than 10 percent, you may not be an expert on any topic. Then there is the expert, whose bucket is 30 - 50 full of math or any other area of expertise. In order to have so much knowledge in one field of study, that person has to miss out on some opportunities to learn about all the other topics that the non expert learned about.Certainly, it is logical to go to a doctor when you are sick, or to any expert when you want expert advice. But, it is also logical to have opinions or prejudices on any topic that a person wants to have one on. That is a part of being human.Lets say it another way. I am not a political activist or a politician. Does that mean that I can not vote or have an opinion on a topic? I am not a medical expert. Does that mean that I can not look up the symptoms for a medical condition, and see if they match my symptoms? Finally, I am not trying to poke fun at the math experts. But I am asking that people be allowed to express an opinion even if that opinion is not held by most others on this forum. From what I have read most of the people that are speaking about math, do not claim to be experts in math. They are just saying what they believe to be a fact, a trend, or their experience in life.

Happy birthday!
I remember when I told my math teacher that all the red ink was unfair because everyone should be able to share their opinion on the test questions without being criticized for it.

Happy Birthday. An old boyfriend was a genius, he could fix anything electronic. He could fix things the company that made the product couldn't figure out (he fixed it, then sent the solution to them). Math was a snap for him since he used it every day, all day as an engineer. He was extremely smart - but stupid with small things. For example: he could never remember garbage day and had to be reminded every week - it's Tuesday. Jim18, I don't mean to say your birthday is on his garbage day. No comparison what so ever. Hope you have a wonderful day. And by the way - 65 is the new start of middle age.
