Re: Oh how I love September
Thanks guys. I was starting to wonder if my luck had gone for good. Dug myself a pretty big hole this summer. Found myself gambling to win which is never a good way to play. This trip (after a month off) was so much different. I was able to get back into my normal groove, my normal timing and the result was much different. I did not feel the apprehension, and desperation that I felt in previous trips. Let this be a lesson to all, and for the advice that DaBurgler gave in the "I NEVER win playing video poker anymore" post. When things aren't going well, you should take some time off. That's what I did. I almost posted here last week saying, "I haven't lost a $ since the last time I stepped in a casino". I actually felt like I was winning by not playing. Give that some thought next time you are in a big losing streak. Truth be known, I was "all in" when I hit the dealt aces. I was already calculating how I was going to replenish my bankroll in order to keep going when that popped up. After that, I was able to just keep my pace and rack up the hand pays. My only real dissapointment was the 8x with 3 10's. Could have been so much better, but heck, I managed 2 RF's in 1 trip, so what can you say. I added almost 20k tier points to my total and will be at Tier II 7* sometime in my next 2 trips.

Nice to see that you strung together a very nice session roveer, sometimes taking some time off works wonders. Depending on what my plans are I usually have anywhere from 3 to 5 k for an outing but I rarely play above the .50 denomination level. This past January I was playing at South Point in Las Vegas and I was playing at the $2.00 level but I couldn't hit anything good. I did manage to just about break even so hitting aces with a kicker once in that session would have been nice. Two weeks ago when I went to Hollywood in Lawrenceburg, IN I strictly stayed at the .25 denomination level, even after I hit my first royal. I did hit a second royal but that was after taking a break from the machine and coming back later. One of these days I will throw caution to the wind and move up to a higher denomination level but I will also keep a tight eye on my remaining bankroll for the session. Congrats again. By the way, I was dealt a royal on a Double Pay machine at Harrahs Joliet, IL in 2002 but, again, it was at the .25 level. Still was a 15k payout anyway.

Sensational pix and hits, roveer. WTG, Ted. Greektown has a Double Pay machine, but zilch for me, so far.FYI:I was elated to learn that Windsor Caesar's no longer charges $12 per day for room att.comWIFI. The concierge provided a password. We have had to pay that at Harrah's Resorts, AC and other Harrah's properties in the past. It's to the casino's advantage to provide free internet, IMHO, to keep addicts in the casino longer, in lieu of them trying to get their money's worth of internet time! One can only hope this is a Harrah's-wide policy!Last time we were at the RIO, Vegas, there were two computers available for use, up the elevator at the entrance to the Diamond Lounge.

Each hand is its own 52 card deck.
When you are dealt any hand in the first position (line 1, bottom hand), the hands above are blank until you hold the cards, which is why when you get Jacks or Better dealt to you, you win all 5 hands.
When being dealt a monster hand like 4 deuces, any duplication of cards one hand to the next is a byproduct of the Random Number Generator, and is completely within the realm of expectation that the same card may appear more than once in dealt 4s of a kinds as the hands are only linked together by the first cards dealt and held.
