Roveer, I think your countless jackpots more than make up for any deficiencies in this department. You're still my idol!

Congratulation! Is that machine located near the Toga Bar.
That's correct ... it's the bank of six progressive machines near Toga.

I am a witness to Eastbound's dealt RF. I was sitting next to him and was so happy (envious) for him.
Good to have you on the forum EB. The corner machine you were playing was hitting like crazy again earlier this week for a new VP player.
When you headed back? With heat/heat index here probably a good time to as our family says "shelter in place" in an AC place.

First of all, Congrats!!!!!!!!!! Secondly, I was just there the same time period you were and I KNOW those machines well and in fact I think I probably wheeled right by you as you were hitting that progressive because I distinctly remember the Jackpot being around 1045 on Wednesday so I am sure this was it.......did you happen to notice a dude in a wheelchair with a Patriots Hat on and a Bumper sticker on his chair with a PUG decal on it??? If so, that was me.... Now, I have been meaning to post about my latest trip to AC which spanned the last week from July 16 thru Yesterday, July 26, but I have been busy catching up from being gone for 10 days and because, frankly, the post I am going to make about my trip is certain to rub the usual suspects the wrong way because I have found out and observed even MORE negative stuff concerning AC's abyssmal Video Poker market.... I gotta say, I am both REALLY happy you hit this dealt Royal, but I am also dumbfounded.......I have been playing those same six 9/6 JOB progressives at Caesars for 3 years and have yet to hit it....My totals on those 6 machines since July 2010 are as follows: about 61,300 hands....... $76,000 + Coin in $71000 + Cashout About a Return Percentage of %93-1/2% Pretty Ugly for a supposed 99.54% Theoretical return. This falls in line pretty much with my overall picture and conclusion(s) about Atlantic City Video Poker, which came toa head this past week in what may be the worst sustained losing session/visit of my life, ANYWHERE at ANY TIME! But once again, CONGRATS!!! I must ask, what were your impressions regarding your experience and trip as a whole with respect to Video poker in AC?? Have you found it harder or easier to win in AC versus elsewhere? What is your impression of AC video Poker's fairness and your lifetime playing there?

Hey Burglar, I may have seen you but don't specifically recall anyone matching your description. I tend to be pretty focused on my play. I was playing the far right hand machine closest to the gaming tables (away from the bathroom side). No, that wasn't my jackpot; I hit on Tuesday night so it must have hit again the following day around the same time. I have now hit that quarter progressive twice, the other time on the middle machine on the same side (two-card draw). However, before that I was starting to believe that the progressive was somehow rigged since I had been playing it quite heavily without hitting a jackpot for nearly two years. Another lady I spoke to earlier in the evening told me she found it very easy to hit, having done so three times in her playing history there.
As far as general playing conditions in AC are concerned, I recently commented on this very point in another thread that I believe you started. No, I don't see any evidence of conspiracy or tightening of the machines there, although I did have one strange experience playing at Harrah's AC a couple of months ago where I didn't receive one multiplier on Super Times Pay for over 70 straight hands (average is once every 18.7 hands, I believe). On my most recent visit to Harrahs AC, though, I got five 10x multipliers within a span of an hour on one machine, which is unprecedented. So my feeling is that they may have started loosening up the VP, if anything.
Better luck and keep at it, the royal will come eventually!

Actually the probability of hitting a multiplier is even better than that. 1 in 15. The chances of going 70 hands in a row without one is (14/15)^70 = 0.007991 = 1 in 125.15
This is far from being rigged, obviously.
As for DaBurglar's claim. Here is 1000 simulations of 9/6 JoB when playing optimal strategy. All bankroll values in dollars. What he claims is less than 1 in a 1000 occurrence barring errors. If he has a 2% error rate, then it would be closer to a 1 in 1000 occurrence. Of course, this assumes VP follows New Jersey law.
