I agree that sometimes it is a bankroll decision but I also agree with billyjoe that a player should try to find a machine and play maximum coin in at a denomination that they are comfortable with. In the past I have lowered the denomination in order to play max coins and it has worked out.

What I didn't like was when the guy got miffed at me because he witnessed me hit another full pay royal on the machine he got off of a little while earlier. If he didn't want to see people do good on a machine he just left, then he should have left the area. This wasn't the only time though that a person ahs come up to me after I make a nice hit on a machine and they tell me that they "just left the machine" or that they were playing the machine earlier. To this I say, so what...

I tend to play whatever game version pays me the most back for what I want to spend. Sometimes the paytable jumps are so big between nickels to quarters or quarters to dollars that you're better off longterm short-playing the larger denomination. Now if you are playing gimmick games like STP, Ultimate X, Quick Quads, etc. you have to bet max no matter what.

Went back to Mohegan last night and today to examine the paytable again on the Multi Strike Machine and play some more. (senior Monday today). Like I posted earlier, it was at the end of a session and I was barely paying attention on a machine that I rarely play. This is a 9/6 machine even on the nickels. it does not short pay on the Aces with the 2-4. It is 800 for one. The payout was 6400 since it hit on line 3 with 2 coins in. That is why I got the W-2G. They do short pay on the Royal though with less than 5 in, but at least it is 400 and not 250 for 1 coin. I played today at the 5 cent level and eventually lost the c note. What I never expected though was to hit a Royal today on a quarter machine playing Deuces Wild and at the time had 8 in. Total time on this machine was at least 6 hours and the 4 Deuces never came in. Just was really lucky to draw the K and 10 in Hearts. And Sam if you are reading this, this was the same wacky machine that I hit the other recent Royal on.( the one that read malfunction call attendant prior to the deal). This will probably be it I am sure for big hits before I switch over to Foxwoods in a week or so, but I guess you really never know.

Thats good. The reduction in return is not nearly as bad then.

And sounds like a hot machine!

You might have something there Sam. Very strange indeed. 3 W-2Gs in less than 3 weeks and only 2 in 10 or more months prior to that. What is even crazier is all 3 were for $ 1600- and I vary my play anywhere from 1 coin up to 25 coins and denominations from 1 cent up to dollars. I also got a letter from them today that they will offer me double points the rest of the week. Called a few of my vp buddies and they didn't get the letter. I also got a call from the Concierge desk asking if there was anything they could help me with. As I am writing this, an email just came in apologizing for a mistake they made about lounge access which was no big deal and I had forgotten about it. Still looking forward to some Foxwoods trips in October. I can't see any reason at this point to keep all of my play at Mohegan.

Hadn't intended to go back up there so soon, but an old buddy called and said he was going last night and you know the rest of the story......Anyway, I was playing Double Down Stud Deuces Wild hoping for one of the larger payouts. Not a bad paytable, over 98%. There are only 3 of these machines left and they are old. An elderly lady sat down next to me with lots of questions on her machine. I naturally tried to help her and explain slowly which took quite a while. I had progressed up to 9 quarters on my machine which was losing at a pretty good clip. While I was helping her out, my machine had defaulted back to a dollar game. I didn't know this and as I turned around and hit deal with a now 9 dollar bet, I was dealt 4 to a Wild Royal. Of course I doubled down and luckily drew the deuce I needed on the last card. That hand paid 80 for one which when doubled is 160 for one. I guess that was my reward for trying to be nice and patient to this lady who was completely lost.

olds442jetaway,That is kind weird getting three and all them $1600 and you betting different amounts, I think they might have cameras watching your every move in casino you must be special they flick button(just kidding) you hit the button at right time to win all those. (jackpots) You should take advantage of it getting all the perks(points,lounge,ect.ect.) before they disappear. Yes, sometimes it pays to be nice/help someone good going, and machine switch to dollars and paid off. Don't write to loud(lol) VP(machines)might hear you and me, and say where just random chips.(lol) I get you its karma and where right sometimes. Sam

Just back from an OK Mohegan trip. Lots of hours put in. No Royals. Played job and deuces wild. Played my usual Martingale clone on quarters. Was down about 5 bills, but caught the 4 deuces with 13 quarters in. Enough to bail me out and the wife's losses as well. Didn't push it after that. Nice low key dinner and show though. EVEN is always good!! LOL>....We also had a little side trip to Foxwoods to match my early morning free play at Mohegan. No problems there and we made coffee money on the 100 play pennies. Martingale works great so far on those machines, but you can hardly ever get them and there are only a few. Renewing a few old contacts at Foxwoods too in anticipation of splitting my time up this next tier cycle. Hope this great weather continues. Good luck and health to all.
