Re: What a shock
Are those odds as high as the odds of the Cubs winning the World Series this year?
The odds of a royal with a 5X multiplier or higher is about 1 in 1.765 million. But 3 handed it's basically 3 in 1.765 million or 1 in 588k.

the state of Video Poker in general is to FORCE these awful paytables upon us,,,,we cannot deny this anymore. Unless you want to relocate to Vegas (or maybe Reno), you are pretty much stuck playing these awful paytables. At least in Vegas you can still find consistently playable paytables.
Nah, just moved to California..plenty of good paytables in Reno/Vegas/SoCal
I found some 9/5 JoB STP in SoCal for 5c-$5

[QUOTE=TIMSPEED]Nice hit!
But 7/5 for 25c?!? Yikerz!first off, congrats to Laurie007! welcome to the forum.....Second, while I agree with timspeed on the paytable being a real bummer, I think that at this point, we need to quit "dancing" around the one uncomfortable truth that all of us would-be "ADVANTAGE players" cannot seem to get away from......the state of Video Poker in general is to FORCE these awful paytables upon us,,,,we cannot deny this anymore. Well, I know that I have mentioned this before, but I believe that being 'pay table focused' is not all that important for the average, regular player. If you are local to a casino, and play extensively for long periods, sure. But most of us visit casinos for recreation, and a little gaming. Some good fortune goes a long way for us.
Playing a full-pay game is great, but unless you are Lucky Larry and Sweet C, why slug away at 9/6 JOB just because it is close to 100% when you almost NEVER score a Royal? Take a tool like VPW, change the RF to a zero return on 9/6 JOB, and look at the return. Closer to reality ? I think so, especially for the casual player.
Call me silly, and I know some of you will, but I have more fun with games like TDB, especially at 9/7 or 9/6 which I find occasionally, since a decent return is not totally dependent on the RF.

Hey....once every 588k, that is how long I go to get a regular Royal on job . Kidding aside, just caught another one last Fri on Deuces. I have tried this game quite a few times and never had any luck and the money disappeared real fast.
