Thanks for taking the initiative Webman!

As for the original post, good stuff again and again Ted. I might start to explore playing 10 play quarters on Video Poker for Winners to get a feel for what your play session is like. In actuality, I only have access to 9-5 DDB and 9-6 JoB. No premium quads in TDB that can be a hail mary to save a disasterous session. For now I'll stick to single line since those usually have better payouts.

Tedlark, I appreciate your posts very much but I also question the amount of wins. You have stated even very recently that you have credit card debt. If you win so much, then I would think you would not have any debt of this kind. Also, with the amount that you win percentage wise to losing, then why not just be a full time gambler? I really don't see how it is possible to win so often. I do appreciate you on this forum.

Don't mean to speak for Ted here, but most of us like to talk and show much more when we win than lose. As to the debt if any, that is Ted's business and if my poor memory serves me, that was related to an ex.

I'm going to leave this topic open for now, however please note that if the seeming hostility on both sides continues, it will be shut down. Many people have grown tired of this feud, myself included.Tedlark, you need not respond to everything DaBurglar posts in other topics, and DaBurglar, you need not respond to everything Tedlark posts. One would think we could simply celebrate a nice day out without getting into the same tired argument that has played out endlessly here.

Thanks Webman. As you indicate, many of us are tired of the soap opera. We have pleaded numerous times for this to stop. Hope it works.

. . .

Thanks Webman. As you indicate, many of us are tired of the soap opera. We have pleaded numerous times for this to stop. Hope it works.

In my experience with other moderated forums, the only way to stop this nonsense is for the moderator to SUSPEND those members who continue to launch personal attacks on others. We all know the four or five members who persist in this immature behavior.

That way, there is no need to shut down threads which begin innocently enough on . . . .wait for it . . . the topic of VIDEO POKER!

Why are we all here: to read about video poker, not to read endless childish attacks by a few trolls.
Suspend them till they grow up.
Chances are, won't see them around much longer . . .
That's what happens when you live a clean and happy life.

Good on ya!What about all the rest of us who also live "Clean and happy", yet consistently LOSE at Video Poker?    What is it that is allowing Tedlark to WIN significant amounts, seemingly each and every time he "Spur of the moment" decides to jaunt off to one of the many casinos he lives within driving distance?
I would just say that, in the universe of video poker, all is in balance, as for those that win there will be those that lose.

I remember a fellow that I knew many years ago. He supplied veal to the top restaurants in a large city. He would go to Vegas once or twice a month for a couple of days. When he arrived, he always made the same bet. He would walk up to a crap table, and place $5k on the 'field', which is always in play. HE NEVER LOST !!! Instead of playing his way into some sort of status with the casino, he would take his $5k winnings (sometimes $10k if it was a 2 or 12), and enjoy himself without ever making another bet. He paid his own way for everything, using the casino's money he had won. I used to think he was just telling stories, but I was with him on some trips, and other friends were with him on other trips, and it was always the same routine. It was truly amazing.

Ted - do you sell veal ?

I remember making the statement regarding credit card debt. I also remember saying that I will be completely credit card debt free by June of this year and I am on target for hitting that date. If I devoted all of my disposable income toward credit card debt I could have wiped it out well before June but at the same time I am putting money away for a new car (I've spoken here before about a Benz, doris is trying to sway me to Caddy), I'm helping out a family member financially, and I'm putting alot of money into retirement accounts.    I choose not to "be a full time gambler" for the simple reason that I know my streak WILL come to an end. I know the amount of money that I would need to have in order to try something like this would require an amount in the 6 figures. I know that my current occupation offers a health insurance plan and being a full time gambler does not.    Therefore I choose to play video poker recreationally and have fun while playing. If people choose not to believe my rate of success playing video poker, that is their right. It really isn't that tough for me to keep track of: I withdraw a set amount of money from my gambling kick and at the end of the night if I deposit more back into this kick then, it was a winning session and if, at the end of the night, I fail to deposit what I earlier withdrew then it was a losing session. So far in 2015 I have made 7 trips to a casino and 6 were winning trips and 1 was a losing trip. I reported on the losing trip here in the forum.   I stand by the results that I have posted. Edited to add: olds is correct; much of the credit card debt I sustained was as a result of generousity I showed toward an exgirlfriend.

I really don't see how it is possible to win so often. I do appreciate you on this forum. excellent, logical post......cannot argue with the reasoning here, and I think it is safe to say that this issue is laid to rest in any video poker forum member who is a bonafide player and understands the game, the math, and the forces at work in a casino.Playing multi-line, high variance games with horrible (96% or thereabouts) paytables will INEVITABLY and undoubtedly result in long term losing....it's that simple.     Of course, someone may experience short term success, even a few winning sessions in a row.....but if that person continues to play such games, unless there is something wrong with the game itself (i.e. it is somehow "SET" to give wins), that player will lose.Bob Dancer has shown how the only LEGIT way to win consistently at video poker involves a whole lot of stuff that is SEPARATE from the actual game (such as paying strict attention to paytables, promotions, slot club offerings, etc).....simply playing and playing and playing inevitably results in losses given today's games.NOW.......if by chance someone is lucky enough and smart enough to WALK away after a HUGE hit (think the $60K dealt royal Billyjoe once hit) then certainly, for a time, that person could claim they are a "winner".....I will even buy Shadowman's claim about how he only plays a very advantageous paytable for the game  One eyed jacks (single line) and he consistently wins amounts in the neighborhood of several hundred dollars.....but that is limited and specific to a very unique game.Bottom line:  I have been brutally honest about my experiences (losing) in AC over the past 5+ years.....that's all I had to share or relate, since I did not embellish or "Create" make believe results or distort what I was otherwise experiencing.   A few people got "sick" of hearing my stories.......tough.   I was not saying anything about AC that was outrageous or was not true......it was what it was, and I had a right to say it (and still do.)   Whining and complaining about what certain people claimed was my own "whining and complaining" about AC was ridiculous.    Now we know better, and hopefully, people appreciate what I was saying and pointing out about the situation in AC all along.......With today's Video Poker, the best we can hope for is to take advantage of the sporadic and fleeting success we might experience, keep our eyes open for great deals, and otherwise contain the damage to our bankrolls while maximizing our "Fun" quotient and scarfing up all the freebies and comps we can get our hands on......sharing such info on this site is the best thing we can do for each other, NOT spinning distorted or false tales of exaggerated  success......this benefits no one (including the person spinning the tale.)
