Awesome hits olds. You are chipping away at your 2014 losses which is good.

I do not want to throw a bucket of water at what you have you been able to win, it is unfortunate that Uncle Sam (IRS) will take some of that cut after the year is over, I think you will most likely be on the plus with those good wins. I'd wish some of these will come next year. I think it is important to know this.

I agree with everything that has been said so far and all good advice. The only comment I would make on the DDS bet is Yes, bet 36 bucks is way too high. Even 18 is way too high. However, in the case of DDS, doubling from bet 18 to 36 is a guaranteed winner since you have already won on the first 4 cards. All of these jackpots I have hit are just pure luck and one reading this should not think the money is just out there for the taking. I think perhaps I was awarded these due to the absolutely horrible 3 years I have had in the opposite direction. Almost beyond belief for those who have followed my Royalless streaks. And yes Alpax, I will be taking a huge hit on taxes this year. Feds will probably get between 20 and 30 percent and the state at least 5 percent. I have already started backing off by starting my session with quarters even this one. One thing I have found for sure. Being able to play double the amount of hands on DDS over any form of draw poker gives me double the chance for a good premium hand hit. Of course you have twice the chance of losing too. I am keeping my session bankroll to no more than 500 tops. We all know it is only a matter of time before they gobble up one or more of the session stakes. Thanks for the well wishes all. PS making a trip to the local Animal Shelter tomorrow. They really need some help and are fighting local budget woes. I think they will be glad to see me. Usually, we just bring our bottle returns which they collect, food, blankets, and toys. Tomorrow will be a little different. I don't dare go all the way inside though. I know I would walk out with an arm full of critters. Now is just not the time with the dad situation and he has a kitty too.

olds, congratulations on the awesome hits. When you are on the streak ride it until you need to get off of it. The problem is knowing when to get out.

May the run continue for a long time.
Once it is won by a player, it is no longer: "the casino's money." It belongs to the player to do with what they want.
I understand your point and agree you can look at it that way.  He said he used $200 of his $700 winnings for a pot shot.  Do you want him to give the money back?

Actually, on my way now to give a little back, but not to the casino. I can see the sad and happy faces at the animal shelter. Anytime I think about helping someone or something that cannot fend for themselves, I seem to win. The critters were on my mind the other night off and on. Hope luck continues. As I am playing, if I think about something like a new car or boat for myself, I always lose. Hmmmmm! Hope my tired but loved Saturn with 331k on the clock gets me up there later tonight. By then I will have another cause in mind and hopefully things will click again.

Edited to add....for all the newbies on the site, like the TV says...do not try this at home...meaning these hits are flukes and not likely to be repeated again any time soon. Probability of dealt quad deuces in over 50k to 1 and a dealt Royal is nearly 700k to one. Play for fun and recreation. If you win great and never risk money you cannot afford to lose.

Bringing video poker tears to my eyes, beautiful stuff my friend! Love it,
Love it. Look...nothing ventured, nothing gained. Got to take those pot shots once in awhile. Trick is to know when to gas and when to break.
Thanks for sharing...good stuff!

Look, disclaim away. After your amazing run, even I must go into drunken sailor mode soon. I did win yesterday in a Mohegan Sun family casino. I played the summer promo game at Resorts AC and won a pair of sunglasses! Olds may need them more than me as his VP future is so bright he has to wear shades. No actual VP play there. Zero luck finding a cocktail waitress. Olds really has the luck at MS!

olds, congrats, it could not happen to a nicer guy. you were certainly due.

do not want to butt in, but might be a good time to catch your breadth and consider how much of your previous years losses, you have already won back. are your bets getting higher than you are really comfortable with? you are not really playing with the casinos money, but money lost in years past. at $36 per spin, your good fortune could go south in a hurry. with all you have won recently, you average annual loss for he past 3 years, is likely pretty reasonable, for the amount you put thru the machines.

not trying to rain on your parade, just something to think about. good luck!

It's a fair warning though. That's a 97.14% paytable which is poor for dollars. And Olds has said he can play this game faster than regular VP. Since he uses a modified martingale, it's hard to say his average bet unless he analyzes it himself, but if he is pushing $10,000 though the machine in an hour for example, then his expected loss would be $286 per hour!   No thanks!

Bit glad to see luck going your way Olds; it's about time!

Just to give a little more detail and clarity....I agree the DDS paytables are poor both for Bonus and regular deuces wild. The way I have been surviving is to bet what I need to be even if hit a smaller premium hand like something that pays 80 or 100 to one. So far that hasn't busted the budget. The larger hits were on pot shots which are few and and between. Also, some of the good hits and jackpots have been on the dollar All Star spin poker game which for bonus deuces wild pays 98.8%.
My average cycle through for the day is in the 15k range or about 1500-2000 dollars per hour. On the DDS machine, that over time is still a pretty good hit at a theo loss of fifty or sixty bucks an hour which would be around 500 for the session. That is a big hit if no premium hands come in when called for, but I wouldn't play just DDS for the entire day on most sessions. The rest of the time would be the machine below.
However, on the spin machine, my theo loss is only around twenty bucks an hour in round numbers. Every session varies as to how much I play each machine. Sometimes DDS is only a small part and sometimes it is the reverse. Without the success on the pot shots, I have no doubt that my losses would easily match the above.
Actually, I just came back from another session today. Had one hand pay, I was out on DDS close to my bankroll limit of 500 and was playing quarters. About once or twice every half hour, I took a couple of pot shots at ten bucks a hand on the dollar DDS game. I was lucky enough to hit a wild royal on Bonus deuces wild for a 1600- hand pay. I have a pic in my phone, but don't want to bother Fla Phil, while they are traveling to Vegas to post it for me. I did play a little more after that and the machines were still cold. Ended up 500 for the session. I'm still not complaining that is for sure. The coldest game of all last night and this morning was the 98.8 dollar spin machine. No quad deuces. No wild royals and only 2 5 of a kinds.
I am definitely due for a 500 budget busting session. They almost had me today. Just pure luck again. Boy is Uncle Sam going to be happy next year tax time.

Heading up to Mohegan later tonight for an overnight. Back late A M tomorrow. Will be playing very conservative as I am overdue for a whoopin. Probably split between DDS deuces wild, Allstar 98.8 spin poker bonus deuces wild. May even dabble with 9/6 job, thouugh that game along with single line airport deuces is what caused 50k losses in each of 2014 and 2015 with the bulk of the losses from job. I am pretty much convinced now that multi line games are the way to go. At least 3 lines or maybe 5. Unless you are playing a very small denomination machine, 50 or 100 play is just too expensive. We don't even have that option at Mohegan. I think the highest is 20 line spin poker or ten play on regular non spin poker. Edited to add, just as an aside, it has been between 50k and 60k hands since I have hit a non wild royal. Hope things aren't slipping back into that old pattern again. If so, quad deuces is the only chance I have of a bailout.
